got a couple of question.....
im painting the wags and im up to the bonnet....there are some stone chips that have rusted...if i were to use rust converter on these then prime over the top...would that be ok? if not...what would be the best method?

and secondly.... does anybody know how to remove the hook under the bonnet? thanks guys..

Not sure about the hook??
But if you rub the area back where the rust is and then hit the rust bubbles with a wire brush to get rid of all loose flakeing rust, then you hit it with a good quality rust remover or converter you should be right! After treating the area wipe it down with metholated spirits to remove any moister from the panel throw in your bog if needed (DO NOT TOUCH THE PANEL WITH YOUR HANDS JUST APPLY THE BOG SAND IT OFF AND THEN PRIME AND PAINT)

what about for little stone chips?
cause all they are are little stonechips with a spec of rust....

well your best bet would be to get some K&H rust converter and primer (its an all in one bottle) follow the directions and then paint over the primer accordingly!

Heating the rust spots will a pen-torch (butane soldering iron or similar) before painting/rust converting is a good step to ensure there is no moisture trapped in or around the rusted area.

one thing to remember when doing this is that rust will travel under the paint.
If you don't get it all then it may spread out from the chip, so the longer method would be the best if you plan to keep the car.
