    Default I have a VN V6 and a VN V8 donor car .. but..

The petrol tanks look to be the same size, shouldn't the vn with the V8 have the 80ltr tank? or do some come with the normal V6 sized tank??

The V8 tank is interchange-able with any other VN right?

Because I may later on change it over to the V8 tank, if I can.

You can. I think you have to change some of the breather hoses, and decide if you want to run the twin pump setup. But otherwise it should swap right over.

Any advantage over a twin pump setup on the V6?

I don't think it was an option either because I've never seen a 5 litre with the small tank but it doesn't mean they all STILL have the big tank 1990' was a while ago now

i'm fairly sure i've seen VN V8's here with the standard 65ltr (or was it 63ltr???) tanks. in fact i think they were the standard size here, i don't see the long range tanks that often at all on early V8's here in NZ

65 litres is more than enough, petrol stations are everywhere and anywhere they aren't out in the bush there are warning signs... Next Petrol station 300ks etc

    Of course not, mate

I guess if you were driving interstate through the inland routes at full throttle in the middle of the night when half the servos are shut, and someone stole all your jerrycans Then you'll need it.

    Tell people that!

I don't want it for wank factor.

I'd just much rather have those extra 15 litres just in case of something similar to Mortons reply

damn i have never seen a 5ltr at pick a part, people just destroy parts, smash windows etc. at pick a part, that's probably why it has a hole in it

Yeah, people don't treat those places with too much respect. If it's in the way, they'll break it to get where they need, and then break more just for fun.

Wow haven't read this thread in a while. I know it listed as an option and i just assumed it was also an option on a v8 as it is on the v6.
