Exclamation Vn not kicking over...please help

    Hi there all
as a real newby here I have scoud the old threads but can't seem to find what I am after.
We have a 91 series 1 VN that wont kick over.At first we thought relays. Swapped em around and it worked for about a day then died again. Looked up this site and decided next obvious problem was fuel pump. Hubby put in a new one(and while he was at it replaced fuel filter)and it still not kicking over.It is trying to but it is like it has run out of fuel.
The pump is priming but no fuel is going up the hose.Hubby was just under it again and still can't figure out what is wrong. Did we do something wrong(he followed instructions to the letter)Are we missing something or should we be looking for another problem? Could it be our immobiliser or should we be thinking a new coil pack?
We are not mechanics but are not retarded when it comes to cars.Just so damn frustrated at this car!!grrrrr
Please help and bring calm back to our house and help my sore feet from all this walking!
    Cheers

remove the fuel hoses (make sure you dont just remove the return hose)
then prime it several times, fuel should spert.

if fuel is ok then move onto sparks, after cleaning up any fuel that might have splashed, remove a spark lead, plug in a spare spark plug, ground it on something (lean it) and crank, if it has sparks then compression test it...

my geuss is on CAS or DFI, both common problems, but dont go replacing anything till you've figured itout

also sure it dosnt have an alarm ecu switch? mine played up once apon a time... ie is it a calais or a exec?

Its neither a calais or exec its actually a toyota lexan() that my bro(orig owner) rebadge and altered to be a commodore.weird i know but all the parts we have put on over time have come from vn's(my hubby and i both work for a towing company so parts are dime a dozen!)
anyhow when it cools down outside he will do what you suggested. Will let you know how we get on.Thankyou for helping out.
    Cheers

mine did the same thing the other day the fuel pump burnt itself out and when we finally got it fixed it still wouldnt start and had no power to the relay turned out that the ecu disabled the fuel pump probabely to save burning out. we diconnected the battery for a few minutes amd voila she was a goer

ARRRRGGGGGG!!! its not the fuel pump or any of the sensors or the ECU or the spark plugs, leads, starter motor, compression tested ok. grrrr so now its going on the back of the tow truck to the mechanic and give him the headache of the damn car!! either that or its a big match!!

yeah we tried immobiliser as well. i think that was our first port of call before the relay switches and then the fuel pump. everything else that hubby and a "mechnaics monkey" mate tested and looked out all turned out to be in working order! just so frustrated!! Not only in the VN down but our big family luxury ford exploda is out of action thanks to a air flow meter!!! grr grr grr. think its time to give up on cars and take to the deadly tready!!
