I'm changing the rear main seal, on a VN Series one V6 engine. Now on the rear main bearing cap you have two key ways, does anyone know where I can get the rubber keys for it. When I pulled it apart it was filled with silicon, so it wasnt even the rear main seal leaking. Damn VN

You dont need keys, just use some high temp silicon to seal it back up, the VN S1 is a rope seal so are you sure its ok? they are pricks of things i did blew my seal and could'nt find it anywhere.

Sorry you have lost me.... S1 Rear main seal is a 2 piece seal, either being rubber or rope seal. and i used high temp sealant around the bearing cap and it hasnt leaked a drop, i also just put a rope seal back in, $84 is alot of money just for some rubber lol.

Yeah there's meant to be 2 rubber blocks (uhave to use silicone aswell anyway) that in theres but silicone works just aswell theres no real pressure on it unlike the rear and the sump sits over the top so it wont go anywhere. Yes you can either get rope or neoprene and $84 is a rip off i would have got and acl or other brand like permaseal one for less than half of that.

Also your supposed to use a flange sealer on the bottom of main cap i hope you put it there or oil will weep out
