how much for a 5 speed auto?

I have been offered a 5 speed auto that is currenly fitted to a vp.
How mch would it be worth?
It had work done to it and a shift kit fitted a couple years ago but the drive is tool.

I'm assuming the 5th gear is just an extra overdrive? If so, then the ratios are probably the same as a regular 4sp... doesn't sound worth the effort to me. Still a slushbox in the end.

no mate. It a 4 speed plus overdrive. It will just have closer ratios n maybe a little smoother.

Are you sure its not just a standard VP auto?? Thats exactly what a T700 is, a 4 speed auto with overdrive/lock up convertor.....

4th gear in the th700 is overdrive... i think this guy is trying to sell you something that is just a stock vp auto unless it is a new transmission modified to fit the buick block?

the newer commy's are 5 speed auto arent they? and they would bolt up the same but only problem would be its electronic so you would have to do something with the computer

Theres no doubt theres plenty of 5 speed autos on the market, its running it in a VP that i'm lol'ing at!
