Default cutting springs. ?? or compressing

    hey guys

i know cutting stock springs to an extreme level gives you a shocking ride.

but how about king springs. i have the lowest kings for my car and it needs to be a bit lower.

someone said something about getting them compressed.

i wouldnt have a clue. what will still give a decent ride? and not bouncy and crap like chopped springs. thanks guys

What King springs do you have in? You can get SSSL's i believe. If not just get them compressed. Just don't cut them.

chopping springs is a no no, you will most likely cut uneven amounts of coil off (even if its a LITTLE bit) best to get them reset by a specialist, they heat up the spring and reset them to the level you want them at.

It is illegal to have cut springs installed on a road-going vehicle. You'll also find that it is potentially dangerous and could be an elemnt used by Insurance Companies to void any claim.

just get them compressed, its only like 60 a set..... you spent how much on the kings? why ruin your hard earned money by cutting them?

and if a cop looks under your car and see's cuts he will probably try and find other things..
I've noticed if you do it right they usually dont care AS much

I have heard that if you cool your springs during cutting than thats how you get the shocking ride, but if you just cut them quick without cooling it gives a better ride. Best though to get them compressed. There was a guy on ebay ages ago that would make springs to whatever height you wanted even went like 5inches lower. Haven't seen it for ages though so not sure if he is still doing them

ive cut a fair few springs for ppl and wat not, just for testing heights and temp measures. i personally would not use cut springs in my car, they never sit right and are all outa wack. i hav ultra lows recompressed. they are a tad bouncy but then again the car is on the stops so wat can u expect.

    Defiently get them recompressed!!

You have the LOWEST kings springs, and you want to go LOWER? O_o Dude, what the hell?

You may aswell cut the bastards, your ride is going to be dreadful, dangerous and illegal anyway.

if i can get both sets to sit even with the rear i will be happy.

im also going to be getting some shortened bump stops from pedders. as that can help ease the pain a little.

and morton i have airbags in the rear so the ride really isnt that bad.

i hear lovells make a shorter spring. but im not sure.. if i could get a complete spring that sits the same way chopped ones do id be willing to pay the extra to be safe and have an ok ride

i know its not going to be excellent at that height but yeah

ur not gonna get a normal spring to get it that height, either get a custom made one or recompress them bout all yu can do mate.

the ssl's you have in there at the moment are the ultralows as you know, king springs make a sssl part number which isnt listed, give them a call and they will be able to supply you the part number.

I would of posted a link here but its a S/C url which is banned here, ill pm it to you if you want to ask anyone about them.

Haydz you KNOW cutting springs is a no no..

Thats weird cause mine are as low as it can go with kings, and mine sit about 2 inches over the top of the wheel and mine weren't cut.. I just took mine into Commwreck (they were pretty new) and said swaps for even lower ones please!! Haha. They didn't have the part number on them though, but they aren't cut at all hmmmm. And mine aren't compressed either. *wonders how brinnys springs would make the VR sit*

I think if you had it any lower than you would have big trouble at shopping centres, and pulling out of driveways. I do!! and i cringe every time and tell my baby im sorry.
