If it's the same model cluster ie 1989 - it should be plug n play

Yup, plug and play. No mods needed!

So long as you're going level 1 to level 2, and vn/vp to vn/vp, you're fine. You can't crossover vr/vs clusters, and you need to modify your loom for a level 3 cluster from a vn/vp (i.e. lcd screens etc)

Your better off finding a vn dash (that works properly & doesnt stick..) opposed to the vp dash as the warning lights wont match up if you interchange between models, ie- the vp model dash has a security module light which throws out every light in the cluster to the left if being installed into a vn model, works but wont be what you expected..

What i did when i had a l2 dash was i took the cluster apart and installed a vs dash facia which made everything look alot better, especially at night with the dash lights on!
