give it a go on the standard shocks, it cant hurt. when i first got my VN i had her with lowered fe2 springs and standard pedders comfort shocks in the back, was a bit bouncy.
Have now got lower King Springs with gas ryder shortended shocks though.. handles nicely.
will handle pretty shit.... just get shortened all round (more important for the rear) and just do it once.... saves stuffing around later on![]()
If the shock holds the spring in ok, then i say give it a go but expect the shocks to start leaking in a few months. If its rear and its live axle, then they take about 5 minutes to change later on anywayz
i did this years ago, within 12 months your shocks will be STUFFEDbear in mind i had stock ride height shocks with ssl's...
exactly how much lower could the stock shocks take without damage?
You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in. This is your wake up call.
I got King SL in the rear of my wagon and the shocks hold the springs in fine. The shocks are only gabreil gas rider junk. But pretty much if you change spring to anything the shocks will die soon after as you are changing the position they have been running at for years.
