I have a VN paddock basher which i bought a couple of weeks ago...I just use it to do burnouts in the paddock...it was running reasonalbly well considering its age, it was a bit down on power and used quite alot of fuel...
Yesterday i noticed a loud knocking sound coming from the motor then it stalled and wouldnt turn over... i have tried jump starting it and it makes no differance it still wont start all the lights work all that happens when you try to start it is a loud clicking sound (probly the starter motor) Any ideas as to what might be wrong would be apperciated... i thinks it probly F@#KED
bigend and the motor has siezed :S can you put a large socket and bar on the harmonic balancer bolt and turn it over by hand ?
yer thanks for the advice ill give it a go...
i know it sounds simple but pour hot water over the battery terminals to clean them, had that problem a month ago it fixed it. if it doesn't, disconnect them and clean them by hand, otherwise try switching batteries with a known working one.
wont help the problem but since u have been in a very dusty environment, its worth cleaning the intake and throttle body often.
You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in. This is your wake up call.
loud clicking will be either starter not getting enough power to turn over, or its trying to turn over a seized motor![]()
she is seized i did the same thing to my vs in november while doing a line locker
