Can anyone help me please ?????
I own a 1990 VN/ toyota lexcen , and was wondering if anyone has put the VP 1/4 windows on a VN ....
I need to replace the bottom part on the outside of the 1/4 windows(the metal & rubber garnish) , but Holden & Rare Spares want to charge me $110.00 for each part ( i need both left & right)
Do the 1/4 windows fit from a VP straight into a VN ......
The only problem that i see that i might have is that there are three(3) lugs on the bottom that hold the strip in place .... do these have to be ground off , with a grinder or will they just sit over these bits![]()
Also is the 1/4 window glass from the VP the same as the VN.... as this would be easier then i dont have to retint the windws..ie .. can I use the existing glass and just put the VP suuround on them ....
Any help or even pictures of the types would be welcome
Basically, the rear quarter fixed glass is actually different between the VN and VP. Although the fixed glass in the rear doors is the same, and so are all of the other side glass sections as well as the front and rear screens.
So to answer your question, no the rear quarters won't swap straight on, and it's far more difference than just the three lugs that exist on a VN...
I don't know about whether the actual glass is the same or not, but when I looked into this some time ago, I thought it's not, and even if it is, it would be too much work for a window fitter etc to seperate it.
I have my vp ones ready to go on my vn, i know itl fit may just require a little modding but will fit, I think the only difference is the window strips that run on the roof are different lengths on the vn/vp.
i was fair sure that the glass from the vn is supposed to fit the vp, im unsure whether anyone is confused about it but i was 100% sure they could so an immideate straight swap? as you would vt to vx, vr to vs etc.
yeah easy done. just need to upgrade all the guttering to vp spec to match. so along the doors and the roof. easy done though. did it to my mates vn calais
