Default PCV valve on Series 2?

hey guys, so i'm trying to diagnose my LPG backfiring issues at the moment. She's not running the best on petrol, so thats obviously the best place start looking. I'm currently thinking there might be an air leak somewhere, have been checking all the vacuum lines etc.
Now i'm looking for the PCV valve as thats apparently an important one to check, but i'll be blowed if i can find it!
My Max Ellery's manual says it should be a couple of inches up and left of alternator, but it's just not there, I'm assuming the manual is referring to a series 1.

Anybody find the thing on their series2?

here's a pic of my engine, and rougly where the thing should be sitting.

    Thanks!

hey thanks for the quick reply delco. I'm pretty amateur with all this, and don't wanna break anything undoing the wrong thing. Could u tell me where with reference to these couple of pics? is it this big one?
I've popped the alternator out to make things a bit easier, and yea, i know my engine is filthy

awesome man, got it. I see how that works now. It seems to be alright, little ball or whatever clicks back and forward easily when i shake it.

    cheers for the direction!

you've definitely checked your plugs and leads right? number one cause for lpg backfire is old plugs and leads.
