Ive just gotta check the condition of my CAS (Crank angle sensor) seeing as my car wont start, but i have no idea where it is! Does anybody have a clue where it is? or a engine bay diagram?
behind the harmonic balancer, left hand side.
the big pulley down the bottom of the engine.
the wires that seem to go into a plug behind it are plugged into the cas.
to change the cas you have to remove the balancer.
if you are taking the balancer of then have a good look at it for damage.
If it is looking old and cracked then save yourself a big job and a fright later and change whiledoing cas.
you will need the crank shaft seal either way.
thanks guys i found it. The problem wasnt the CAS, it was the huge connecter running into the DFI.
Also, what does a harmonic balancer do exactly?
EDIT: Nvm, i checked on wikipedia. Very interesting stuff![]()
the connection to the DFI module, was it the sockets that the pics go into? mine where lookse and when the engine rev the wires would move and the car would die, took me awhile to find out what the hell was going on, i thought it was the coil pack or CAS thats the codes it was shooting out at me. i cut the wires got another plug and extended it behind the strut tower, becasue its supercharedand had to move coil pack.
