Default Diff Pinion Angle (live axle)

I've got a set of adjustable upper rear control arms, to allow me to change my diff pinion angle.

now that's all good and well - but I want some people's opinions on what angle they run, why, and where it's measured from!

    Cheers in advance,
    Luke

2 deg negative. Measured from the drive pinion flange to the tailshaft.....

As you apply more weight to the rear of the car, or accelerate, the pinion angle will change anyway (increase +). You want to avoid going positive, or at least minimise it. I found it decreased axle tramp. I've never fiddled with mine much more than that, but it stands to reason that you could also go too far with ajustment, and only make traction worse.

Is this a correct understanding of 'negative 2 degrees' ?

    - and so when the car accelerates/rear goes down for whatever reason, the diff goes up and the pinion angle approaches (or crosses) 0 degrees, yeah?

So i guess it might be a matter of going negative 1-2 degrees, then slowly but surely adjusting to increase negative angle to increase traction/hook, until you start going backwards?

    check this http://www.nolathane.com.au/catalogu...ate%200706.pdf

so -2 degrees seems good for a strip track car, +2 degrees for drifing/burnout work
