Default something weird happening to my cluster

Hey... i've been in the precess of upgrading my vp executive to have a stage 3 cluster... I HAVE NOT PLUGGED THE CALIAS WIPER/TRIP BLOCK IN YET

i'm half way through now and i decided to turn the ignition on... i have a few problems... actually one probably caused by many...

    ignition 1st click = normal
ignition 2nd click = PWR, FAN, Left blinker (constant dim), Right blinker (constant), Hand brake, High beam (dim) come on... and a terrible high pitched noise from the ECU

i have found that when i take the hand brake off, the right blinker lamp turns off

    Left blinker = press remote
    right blinker = temperature warning
    engine lamp = park brake/PWR

I think i need a diagram of where the pins in the back go.... please???

or is this normal at this stage of upgrade???

also the person i am getting the rest of the equipment from won't tell me whether i need to cut the connection to the rear of the cluster once the wire is spliced into the bottom of the cluster

I don't think it's "Flucked" garth... just a wiring mix up, or something else look i tested each of the lights one by one and according to the list on the back of the cluster a few of the lights are wrong... but the list matches to the connectors on the car perfectly, i think, i could be wrong but could the warning light cover have been replaced

here is the list from left to right according to the front panel

    FOG
    CRS
    DEMIST
    PWR
    ENGFAN
    lEFT IND
    PRESS REMOTE
    BRAKEFAIL
    FUEL
    SPD
    Water or something???
    TEMP
    RIGHT IND
    PARKBRAKE
    HIGHBEAM
    LIGHTWARNING

List according to the list on the cluster

    FOG
    CRUISE
    REAR DEMIST
    CHECK ENGINE
    BRAKE FAIL
    PRESS REMOTE
    LEFT INDICATOR
    ?
    ?
    ?
    RIGHT INDICATOR
    PARK
    LOW OIL
    ?
    ?
    ?
that is all i could get from looking at the list, the rest came out of the cluster, not from the connectors

i have looked on the net but can't find any that are different, are there any that are different?
I would really like to know, please help it would be much appreciated

i reckon you got a cluster that was different with the lights from your one, i had one once aswell and id go to indicate and some other light would light up. Luckily i got another one that works perfectly. compare the lights with your original one

lights from the original one are completely different, but the circuit board is the same, it has to be the warning strip i think whoever had it before replaced it and now thats why it's screwing with mei need to find one that has the same light sequence as the second one i listed.... all i need is a dead cluster that matches nothing has to work at all, just need to pull that strip off and put it on my cluster... the clear face in front of the strip HAS been removed, one of the screwholes in the white plastic behind it has been busted

You can still run your old dash with the extra plug left out. So try plugging it back in and see if all is good there still. If is not then somthing is fugged, and i can only guess maybe you put one of the 3 plugs in the back in upside down in the holder as they can go either way.

The VN/p cluster you can see is different cause some of the tracks where the rear plugs go in the cluster are joined together to make one fat track, like 2 beside each other are joined in the plug hole. Where as the VR/s ones each peice of track that goes into the plug hole are all individual.

Not only are the plugs in the right holes, but are they the right way around?
I had one of mine put back in upside down and things weren't cool.

Hi it's been a while, but everything going good now, turns out the guy who sold me the cluster had 2 pulled apart and didn't check whether he had the right window strips in, but guess what? i have a more pressing problem...

i turn the car on, press my remote, everythings good... start the car, high pitched ringing from ECU not the cluster, brake Fail Light and Press Remote Light are half on, Drive for a while (anywhere between 3 minutes and an hour) and the Press remote light turns off, Brake Fail comes on full, i have tested the brake fail plug for continuity, the grey wire, (-) has no current. the Brown white (+) has, i've looked at the wiring diagrams over and over and cannot figure out what is wrong, it's been like it since i put it in, but see, it turns off after a while and i'm guessing thats a good thing, i just need it to start as being off

    Ok found a few things.

One thing I could see is that the brown white wires could be mixed up on the C1 #7 and #8
#7 goes to the ECU and #8 goes to YE14 These wires could be mixed up.

The green wire from C3 #8 that goes to C1 #9 is joined to C4 #3 in the Holden VP book (and is not on the diagram on JC's).

Markovr may be able to assist on this one.

haven't started her yet, the new exhaust system'll wake the neighbours... and the family, but already sounds promising, when you turn the key and it beeps at you to say press remote...
    doesn't do the drony
    half beep
    full beep
    half beep
    full beep
    it's clear single beeps
    on
    off
    on
    off
i think it's gonna work... but shouldn't count your chickens before they hatch

Also the green wire from C3#8 that goes to C1#8 is to light up the press remote globe.
