Default Which conversion to go for?

Hey everyone, was after a few opinions on a new engine for a VP 5spd. Was thinking about a 5L out of a later model possibly VS-VT ect, but also i am considering the factory supercharged 3.8- is there much of a weight saving going with the 3.8S? and are they common to most forced induction motors with response to mild tuning, e.g- exhaust, air intake, and a slight rise in boost? Also would they sound the goods ? the only one's ive ever heard were just standard and they sounded a bit like a blocked up Hoover- Can a VP be easily engineered to take this motor being as it was never an option from the factory? Thanks for any help-

5.0ltr is going to pass an engineers alot easier as it was a factory option but it is heavy. Not having a s/c v6 i cant say what it can do. But others have said that with just a few mods the s/c6 will make more power than the V8.
If you get the wiring loom, ecu and all asscoiated bits you will fit it in ok as its not any wider than the buik engine. Some may be able to confirm if it uses identicle engine mounts onto the k frame as the old 3.8 cause i think it does.

Well basically i'm looking at a stock 5lt which put's out around 165kw (flywheel) an SS motor or something could come up but would just mean more time spent searching for one. The 3.8S puts out around 175kw or there about's, so i'd think with just a few mod's 200kw at the flywheel , so with just a few basic mods, and being in a lighter VP, just seems on paper it would work very well in my favour. But in saying that, i havent seen a VN/VP out there with this conversion( i'm sure there probably are some though...) i'm not wanting to turn my car into some sort of monster, as i drive it everyday, just something a little more modern with a little more power.

The 304 with a chip will make 195fwkw. And that only costs $50
