    Default Parker lights.

Okay, I've done a search and basically I've found that the coloured ones are illegal.
So I went ahead and bought myself a pair anyway.
So my question is, is it possible to have the parkers turn off while you turn your headlights on?
I thought of manual switches, buttons, whatever you want to call them, on the wires to the parkers so I could manually turn them off, but that would mean if I want them to come on then I would have to open my bonnet and flick 4 switches.
Is there any way I could control this inside my car or??
    Cheers.

Easy, how electrically minded are you? Just run a switch from the parking light wire that runs from the headlight switch...... I have a VP myself so if you like I can find the wire for you and let you know........

    cheers

even so if you are worried about getting caught with coloured parkers when you have your headlights on then why bother putting them in at all? i have blue parkers in my vs and drive with just parkers on until it gets dark enough then i put my headlights on

The problem is your entire parking lights are on the same circuit, You would have to isolate them at the headlights and run wire back into your switch inside. Alternatively you could install a relay to cut the front parkers when you turn the headlights on. If your interested I'll draw up a diagram for you.

yeah, they are pretty noticible with my headlights on.
when the headlights are on there is a bright green (not huge, but bright) dot with the headlights.
I think that having superwhites wouldnt help it much.

Could you please draw me that diagram?
    Thanks heaps.

Sure here is what i came up with,

    What you need:

    • 1x SPDT Relay
    • Insulated female spade terminals
    • Some light duty wire
    • Crimpers and soldering iron

What you need to do is cut the brown wire going to each parking light at the headlamp plugs, run them back to 30 on the relay and connect wires from 87a on the relay back to your parking lights (brown wire).

Next, splice into the tan wire at the headlight plug and run to 85
86 simply needs to be earthed

-Note that all colours were based of a VN. I am assuming VP is the same...

    Cheers
