i juggled the same thing a few weeks ago whether to buy a vr vs or vt and came to the conclusion the vr was better (cos i know the buciks well from previous cars) but also cos there alt more responsive as soon as you touch the accelerator BAM she jumps and goes, just presonal opinion though.

Converting any V6 to another V6 is not worth the effort, unless you're dropping an L67 in there. For any other motor, with the effort you'd have to go to either making it mafless or changing the wiring loom, you'd be better off dropping a 304 in there with a T5 to boot.

haha, I know a couple of guys that have done ecotec conversions.

At the end of the day, it's like upgrading from a VR to a VS. It's no faster, just a bit more rattley, and harder to work on.

Spend the moneys on a manual conversion - not much more powerful, but more fun x10

Stroking the V6 - 100% wasting your money. And that's not just me being biased
Cams can have a good effect if done properly with a good manifold.

And yeah, converting to manual is difficult, but I've done three manual conversions now, and they can be done in less than 36hrs with two people going flat chat

If you can buy all the bits, and give me $250, I'll bring the tools and help you do it ^_^

It's my mission to make as many auto Commodores into manuals as I can!!!

Yes a supercharger will be powerful, just do your research first. Learn from other people's mistakes. There's a lot to learn about SC14 supercharging on Buicks from this forum - have a search and read carefully

If your car is loud, has mag wheels, is lowered a lot, or looks modified - yes they will. A lot. Melbourne is very bad for it. Where in Melb do you live? What suburb?

I find that with my Statesman looking stock, with standardish wheels, and not lowered much, and with a SILENT exhaust, I never get my hood popped, and I almost never get pulled over for RBTs etc. I've had one police officer open my bonnet, and that was at a car wash because he noticed my car was manual and wanted to have a perv

Doncaster to F'Gully isn't bad as long as you stay off Stud Road, Burwood Hwy, Mountain Hwy, etc.

Ceptors = yes Do it. It's a good look.
Ultra Lows in the back = no!!! Don't do it! NOT a good look

Here's Superlows in the front, and Lows in the back - my previous ride, the Blue VP:

Or, if you want to throw hubcaps on there for that extra "sleeper" look:

The "rake" you get with the car leaning forward, is HOT. The chicks dig it (lol, really?), nobody will think you're towing an invisible trailer, and it will handle ten times better than super-duper-ultra-megalows

You can't get brand new 15*7 silver 'ceptors any more. They're getting harder to come by, I think they're all on VLs ^_^ lol

    Why not Ultras:

    1) they actually, really, genuinely look stupid
2a) cops will be all over you like a rash
2b) you will get a defect
    3) you won't have enough travel in the back for predictable handling on rough aussie roads (on a racetrack is a different matter)
    4) did I mention that it looks awful?

Well, if you like it, it's your funeral

But one day you'll look back and go "wow, that was silly". Everybody does.

I've been trying to tell people for two years in the Vic Chapter, RAISE THE BACKS OF YOUR CARS!!!! And they wouldn't listen.

Now in the last six months, they're all going "man, my car's too low. It actually looks silly".

And I'm just shaking my head
