ok guys been thinking
is a ecotec vs or vt much better kw then the buick
is it much work to put a vt motor in a vn
becuse there few vt motor hunging around cheap
iv been told most of the major stuff i need is the ecu off a vt and a vr n up tranny
for most major sutff
are they right
and what els do i need to no cheers
more kw but less torque, you will find it a head **** if u havent ripped out a motor before
i juggled the same thing a few weeks ago whether to buy a vr vs or vt and came to the conclusion the vr was better (cos i know the buciks well from previous cars) but also cos there alt more responsive as soon as you touch the accelerator BAM she jumps and goes, just presonal opinion though.
SOCIAL hands off we all know vt's are slugs
Converting any V6 to another V6 is not worth the effort, unless you're dropping an L67 in there. For any other motor, with the effort you'd have to go to either making it mafless or changing the wiring loom, you'd be better off dropping a 304 in there with a T5 to boot.

seems on only 17(love cars since i was born) and be on my p's soon i thought a ecotec wld be great way to get more power
my mates have said same thing they told my to keep the buick n cams done n start like tht
i dnt got the money for a l67 so wat wld u guys do to my buick for the same amout of cash to convert to a ecotec
n wat kw am i looking at remebring hiding from cops
thanks guys sorry if spellings **** im tired ah
haha, I know a couple of guys that have done ecotec conversions.
At the end of the day, it's like upgrading from a VR to a VS. It's no faster, just a bit more rattley, and harder to work on.
Spend the moneys on a manual conversion - not much more powerful, but more fun x10![]()

iv seen u tell nearly almost auto driver to do that befor anything u wld probly make then do it befor getting there mum a bday prizsent ahah
turnin it to manual its a shit load of work isnt it
was gonna get my mate to stage2kitted on my auto even no dnt no wat does ah explan is u no please
watta u think about doing cams morton or anyother good power upgrades that will give me a good punch
304 isnt tht a v8
or cld i get my v6 strkd
Stroking the V6 - 100% wasting your money. And that's not just me being biased
Cams can have a good effect if done properly with a good manifold.
And yeah, converting to manual is difficult, but I've done three manual conversions now, and they can be done in less than 36hrs with two people going flat chat
If you can buy all the bits, and give me $250, I'll bring the tools and help you do it ^_^
It's my mission to make as many auto Commodores into manuals as I can!!!

morton i might take u up on tht offer one day ah
atm anyother good suggestion for getting more power
and wld a superchanger runing at 8-9psi give me more power cos im sersli thinking about it cos cops around melb dont alway look under ur hood
Yes a supercharger will be powerful, just do your research first. Learn from other people's mistakes. There's a lot to learn about SC14 supercharging on Buicks from this forum - have a search and read carefully![]()

cheers morton one more thing bein a meln driving many cops try to look under ur hood when u got pull up on ur ps or na
If your car is loud, has mag wheels, is lowered a lot, or looks modified - yes they will. A lot. Melbourne is very bad for it. Where in Melb do you live? What suburb?
I find that with my Statesman looking stock, with standardish wheels, and not lowered much, and with a SILENT exhaust, I never get my hood popped, and I almost never get pulled over for RBTs etc. I've had one police officer open my bonnet, and that was at a car wash because he noticed my car was manual and wanted to have a perv![]()

with my vn i can cruise past cops with out rev but soon as i put my foot down u can hear me near blocks away
ahah well i was gonna go ceptors call around with ultra lows back n superlow fronts an thts it for out side maybe put hug cups on back with i got 17;s or 18s on front watta u think about that ah also gonna spray my bumpers matt black think shud look nice dnt like gloss black true ah
P.S I LIVE near doncaster -frentree gully were i mostly be
Doncaster to F'Gully isn't bad as long as you stay off Stud Road, Burwood Hwy, Mountain Hwy, etc.
Ceptors = yesDo it. It's a good look.
Ultra Lows in the back = no!!! Don't do it! NOT a good look
Here's Superlows in the front, and Lows in the back - my previous ride, the Blue VP:
Or, if you want to throw hubcaps on there for that extra "sleeper" look:
The "rake" you get with the car leaning forward, is HOT. The chicks dig it (lol, really?), nobody will think you're towing an invisible trailer, and it will handle ten times better than super-duper-ultra-megalows![]()

funny i live off burwood nice look sexy vp yes?
and why not ultras in back is it to low n cops will go for it
nices stockies i still cant find any decent ones around
You can't get brand new 15*7 silver 'ceptors any more. They're getting harder to come by, I think they're all on VLs ^_^ lol
Why not Ultras:
1) they actually, really, genuinely look stupid
2a) cops will be all over you like a rash
2b) you will get a defect
3) you won't have enough travel in the back for predictable handling on rough aussie roads (on a racetrack is a different matter)
4) did I mention that it looks awful?![]()

in few weeks might go look for some at pick apart
wats wrong with that height i like it low at the bak and mine wont look as low as that because i dont go tside skirts kit
Well, if you like it, it's your funeral
But one day you'll look back and go "wow, that was silly". Everybody does.
I've been trying to tell people for two years in the Vic Chapter, RAISE THE BACKS OF YOUR CARS!!!! And they wouldn't listen.
Now in the last six months, they're all going "man, my car's too low. It actually looks silly".
And I'm just shaking my head![]()
