Exclamation electrial / aircon issue - s2 VN SS

    Hi guys,

This has got me completely baffled

    Yesterday
Had an issue with the a/c throwing belts so i have replaced the tensioner pulley (which we believed was seizing) and put a new belt on.

Went to turn on the fan and it is not turning on.

Had a look at the relays first (swapped them around and all appears ok)

Next checked the fuses. When i pull out fuse 9: HEATER - A/C CONT AUTO A/C - CMPR - the car stopped running and I lost my instruments. But the fan came on.

Now fuse 10 is INSTRUMENTS - IGN SYSTEM (which are the things i lost when pulling fuse 9.

I am definitely not pulling the wrong fuse.

So to get the fan working i have to pull fuse 9 - which disables all the items described by fuse 10.

    Today
pulling the fuse 9 still stops my car from running or starting - but now it no longer makes the fan turn on.

After sitting down and having a smoke and a can of johnny walker with the ignition in the on position, the fan magically turns on!! Then turns off. In a period of 15 mins it does this a couple of times. I can hear the realay switching in and out while it does this.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??

By the sounds of things maybe its a bad earth on the relay

If you have a test light or multimeter, check to see if theres power on the heater blower motor/AC fuse when ignition is on.

I had a similar problem, turned out to be a bad earth on the ignition relay, which supplies power to the heater blower motor/AC fuse.
