hi ive been told that a good upgrade for my car would be to get a mini spool and gears to make the car go better. i understand that it has something to do with the diff but thats about it. can anyone explain it better and tell me how much id be looking for to get installed and where i live in wantirna, victoria
get an lsd and gears, not spool...
diff gears come in 3.08,3.45,3.7,3.9 and 4.11's, the higher gears are good for better take off but for highway drivin it sits at higher revs...
lsd makes both wheels spin, but around corners it lets the inside wheel turn faster, but with a spool it locks the wheels so they both spin at the same time, so around corners its skips....in the wet it can be very dicey and u can loose it pretty easy
i think there is a 3.23 or 3.27 in there aswell?
lsd's are alright but i personally like the spool more..... spool is always locked and as explained in previous threads, is not as dangerous as people make them sound........
all i can recommend is do a search and look at some threads and decide for yourself what you want to do![]()
i live in ur area to ahah
u can would say go 3.9s with minispool if u buy them off ebay there heaps places tht cld put them in for 300
the higher the gears the short ur shifts are
ext like
normal
1-1-60ks
2-60-90ks
3-90-130ks
4-130ks
(higher gears shorter shifts) and there not the real normal shits just giving exp![]()
with higher gears ur shifts will be better
gives u higher revs n will take off with power at wheels
minispool its the best i dnt need to say anymore
get lsd with 3.9s mate.i have a mini spool and i tell ya mate its better getting an lsd,its legal and wont snap axels etc.and wont chew ur tyres,i go through a set of tyres every 3 months coz of the spool.
mate trust me heaps of people hanve daily driven spools were is stealthy to back me up
so? my tyre's dont last me a month.... but thats more due to the "other activities" not how i drive it on the roads lmao
where do i go to get all these wonderful things tho and what price

I didn't realise that you could post other peoples opinions on something they know nothing about and then its a fact!
YOU even proved my point by admitting you've driven an old LSD falcon, so you know everything about spools too....
Your right foot decides your tyre life. You do more burnouts, for the simple fact you can. They don't snap axles anymore than an LSD anyway, since an LSD has the same locking effect when its completely new, it just needs time to wear out (which is why people choose spools, they NEVER wear out)

"Can people who don't know anything about spools stop posting as if they have facts!" dude who cares, any help is good help, and the info doesnt always have to be right...
get ya head out ur ass ya tool!!!
Haha, yet another one, who doesn't know what they're talking about. I've been in a spooled car, so i know how they work, and what it takes to drive one....yeah right!
I been in a AWD car before, but it doesn't mean i understand 4WD understeer.....
Your wrong, and your information doesn't help. The spool doesn't make the car dangerous in the wet, the driver does. If the driver is going to crash a spooled car, the outcome would be the same in an openwheeler car, or an LSD'd car!
Thanks for the rep back, however retaliation reps aren't allowed, (not that your rep had any position to deduct points from mine haha)

Burnout comp / drag car/ speedway etc = minspool, Road use = LSD. If you can't afford to run the LSD then stay with the single spinner![]()

There are times when a spool could be a sensible option like with Luke turbo VN since it's fairly costly to get a LSD that will take it but even then he wants and will end up with a LSD. For a V6 or 5 litre even the stock LSD lasts almost forever unless you only ever drive in circles in top gear
both of my LSDs still feel fine. i was in lukes VN the night he broke his axle into 3 pieces not even driving hard.

Thats fine, and i told you, its easy to drive without other people knowing its spooled, so it cancels out that problem
Of course, i don't care if people choose an LSD over a spool, people should get whatever best suits them. But he's asked the question about a spool (where to get, not lsd or spool) so he's probably already made up his mind in that regard!
