so heres he dealio
today i drained the oil and radiator ( had to leave the filter on, the civic is in bribane with my toolkit in the boot so i couldnt get it off) , anyways i relised the filter pliers were in the other car, swore abit and as i had to move the car to run down to work and put my hours sheet in, anyway i refilled the oil and coolant and gave the engine bay a quick degrease and hoses and went on my way after making sure i could see no leaks....well i notice the oil light is on so ipull over and check the dipstick..its full to perfection hmm i lay on the road and look under i case i missed a leak...nope so i drive to work and recheck the oil there still full still no leaks so i get home and as i write this i just relised i prp wet the damn oil switch grrrr but anyways any more ideas on what it could be before i go check the damn oil switch???
ty and soz for the long post im tired, and in desprate need of beer which i will go and get once this oil light stops having me so worried
for the $13 it costs for a oil pressure switch, its worth trying that 1st
as stated oil pressure switch worst case pickup is blocked or the oil pump is shot my bet is the switch is shot when you pulled the dip stick out after a run did you see any small bubbles at all and if ya realy want to check for pressure remove the fuel pump fuse then remove the pressure switch and get some one to crank it over once its messy but works but as i say im with ScoHar with the switch
i wont tolerate cretins aiming to cause problems here at jc and nor will i hesitate to let the moderators know

bit of a update, just blew the switch out with a bit of compressed air and it was fine, im guessing there was just a water buildup on th switch ...ty for respondes
i find the same thing happens to me.
if a decent amount of water runs on or near the switch it will start working and not working.
glad you sorted out your problem mate
Did you, uhh, check the oil levels![]()
