Default another post on throttle body's

I've spent quite some time now reading through numerous threads and replies that have been written in the past, and I'm still a little unsure. This question is in regards to swapping a V6 throttle body, to that of a V8. From what i've gathered, it's a swap from 60 mm to 65 mm (please correct me if I'm wrong so i know for sure- ) Where is this 5 mm difference found aswell? Now almost everyone who replied to thoses threads i read, said that it's a waste of time with no gain other than a possible slight increase in throttle response (which would then just flatten out later on as you put your foot down a little further) I'm unsure because i was visiting the YellaTerra website, and for $310, they will sell you a bolt on, 70 mm throttle body, for a pre-ecotec V6. What is the bannana people keep referring to? is that the bendy bit that connects the TB to the plenum? what are the internal diamaters of this piece, if it was less than the 70 mm bolt on TB, then i can't see how there would be any gains to be had? unless i was to widen something...........?

The banana is what people call the factory 5 litre manifold, the V8 manifold is 5mm bigger in diameter on the inside. There's very little is anything to be gained with these kinds of mods on the V6, you're much better off concentrating your efforts on the heads and cam that's the only time you are gong to make one go a worthwhile amount faster. Apart from that just get it running properly or work on the suspension and brakes instead

if ya want to squeeze a bit more power get a greenfoam tune he wont lead you astray apart from that without spending big $ its all exhaust extractors ect or a super charger

That's what most of the post's say. I thought maybe being 70mm, instead of 60, or 65, may have made a difference. I don't suppose many people purchase the TB on yellaterra website then........especially at $310

    Default Hell no

maybe if ya had all the mods but that aint going to make much difference and believe me ive been looking for the cheapest non major mods for a wile now and its all about out let not in let those tbs are for stokers and what not and that will set ya back around 3 grand

i was just reading here can i leave my air intake off????

you could always do a dry ice enclosure for the tb ive seen it done on the track but im not sure if you can get busted or not

another option is to re rout the ac around the tb in a box as to chill the air but you lose power because of the ac compressor
