Hi,
I have a fully rebuilt VP v6 motor fitted in an LX torana. I am having problems starting the engine when cold, it takes a fair bit of cranking >10seconds and coughs a bit. Once the engine is warm it starts well and from what I believe runs well
We have had the engine checked over by a mechanic and he believes electrically it is fine. I have replaced the temperature sensor in the intake manifold, checked the coils, replaced the fuel regulator and replace the injectors with new ones.
Any ideas of what to do next??
Thanks
is the fuel pump priming before you start it

yes the fuel pump is priming. We did an error code check and no codes came up.
Could it be the computer?
Would I be best to source a new one or try a second hand computer?
try find a known good ecu to test off someone saves buying it and not needing it

could it be the coil pack? or the c.a.s?
how is the one way valve in the pump ? does it hold pressure overnight ?
Yes it would be good to find someone with a good working ecu.
I will have to find a manual one won't I as the engine is a manual.
Cheers
hey just a thought my brother has a vr v6 he had the same prob it was the fuel pressure regulator at he back left of the fuel rail.
