I originally had VN V6 Series I motor in my 90mdl VN manual... I've recently upgraded to a VR V6 Series II motor and auto loom... reco'd the manual new flywheel, clutch etc to suit... the Series 2 motor is in though I'm having issues getting it to crank over?? it does crank though just won't purrr....
Is thier something I should do to the loom??? at the auto end of the loom
If the motor thought it was in gear i.e drive it wont turn right?? but its turning so I think everythings alright the revese lights work with the orig g/box wiring! I have come accross a round looking wire plug thing that looks like it attaches to the VR series 2 electronic gearbox? I cant find a home for it so I'm guessing its for the auto.
I am using the VR series II computer and loom originally it was used with an auto... Motor was running in the VR???
BCM was found to be the problem! I keeped the VR comp and loom just used the original [Chip] from the VN PCM [computer] and used it in the VR PCM and she runs beautiful!!
Thanks in advance

did you put the vr BCM and stuff in its probably a VATS issue was there any reason you didnt just plug the vn wiring loom onto the engine its so much easier.
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
The BCM meaning the vr computer key relay thingy me bob?? yer :/ hah no..
I would have use the original wiring though it went to the scrap metal place with the engine ( I was told it wasn't needed) after I did take it their, I later registered here and found I needed alot of things from that engine e.g starter motor, crank... the motor was being replaced cause she got real tired 520.000ks tried to get it back but work keeped me away from the place later found it went the day I droped it off
I was intending on using my other series 1 engine caused it has low ks 210.000 and has been the family car but was hit in the rear later founding out it had a 6 bolt smaller crank as it was an auto engine...

what you need is a late vn or vp loom and computer. if it is auto then you will need to get a manual chip so as not to get errors.
the vr has another computer called a bcm (body control module) That ties in the imobilser and stuff so is the cause of your problems.
vp harness and comp will get you going.
The complete Vn-Vr Manual Conversion Guide.
Did you use this guide. If not have a read. It may help you.
I could get my hands on a late VN - VP computer... and loom but what for!
cause I'd prefer to run the VR loom because its already connected and working without the computer in its place just an idle atm... The BCM is the only thing cutting the engine down!
BCM their has ta be a way to disable it??? cut a wire reprogram the comp?? or something I'm getting tired of getting my hands dirty lol... been 2 weeks under the car everynight and i'm over it... just want to be back in the driver seat...![]()

It's all wrong, You need the VN/P loom or a VR manual loom and the immobiliser switched off. VR auto loom will allways be dodgy at best, the speedo sensor wont work etc easier to use the VN loom. The VR auto uses a different computer to the VN/P and VR manuals it's not just the memcal
After hours of tinkering... I decided to try using the chip from the original VN Series 1 V6 man PCM into the VR series 2 auto PCM... she runs perfectly speedo and all... not a beat missing and that using the VR loom![]()
many hours of frustrating workis finally over... its well worth the effort...
