Default Vn V6 fuel problems bubbles intank

Car has started to playup, it just started tonight, it was fine with half a quarter of a tank, and when its under that and i go around a corner not even fast it coughs and dies, then i have to wait for about 4-5mins then start it, and i cant give it much or it will die and do the same thing over again. has the swirlpot lifted off the bottom of the tank??, is the fuel pump on its way out?, when i prim it to acc i can read it bubble in the tank, it was fine the other day and would go lower than that and would beable to drive it hard and it wouldnt die, has the fuel sender stuffed up?? alot of things it could be.

Also i might be looking at putting a fuel tank in it with a VS V8 statsman tank, i am pretty sure it will fit, and i have a mate who has a vn v8 with a v6 sender unit in it and it reads fine, i have a L2 dash aswell. i will also get prices tomorrow on a fuel pump boshe 044, what price did everyone else pay for one thanx. feel free to babble on

I've heard the bubbling noise can be caused by the return line falling from where it's supposed to be and blowing bubbles due to being submerged... Can't verify that myself though.

I'm having this vision, that you should pull the vacuum hose off of the fuel pressure regulator, and see if fuel comes out, if it does, new pressure regulator.

Clamping the return line temporarily for testing can expose the same problem too.

bubbling in tank the return line has dislodged and is not filling the swirl pot hence why the cornering makes it cut out theres a heap of threads in here about it

Just went out and checked there is no fuel coming up through the fuel reg vac into the manifold.

I took the fuel line off at the engine bay and seen how much it pumps through when primeing and it reads around 85-90mm. so i think that is ok.
It may be the swirl pot its still bubbling in the tank because there isnt much fuel in it, but it has gone lower before, so the swirl pot may be stuffed from the other day a lil bit of circle work went on and when it spun around it would die and then i would have to start it again, that was with abit over quarter of a tank.

its not so much the pot its the hose that feeds it from the return line will be pumping into the tank not into the swirl pot

The return line goes into the side of the tank near the sender, not above the tank they are breathers and have been replaced, the VRs maybe also the VPs has this built into the sender unit to keep the returnline pipe into the swirl pot, but i havnt had a problem with it since i have owned it apart from doing some circles and it dieing when being flicked around, now its getting worse.

or are you saying the filler from the side has a pipe in the tank that drops the fuel into the middle of the swirl pot not the breathers on the top of the tank must have missread

The bubbling sound you're hearing, do you think it could be a vortex from suction? Like emptying a bath?

yeah i meant in the tank theres a pipe from the return from engine into the swirl pot it will be under the fuel level making the bubbling noise instead of being attached to the tank any more

    Default Same!

I have the EXACT same problem. Whenever I go around round abouts and corners and Im low on fuel, the VN dies on me! Its frustrating because I have to keep the car above half a tank all the time. Ive had this problem for ages and still havent found the cause You might be on to something. I'll definitely be watching this thread so I can fix my own problem and vice-versa. If I find the issue I'll definitely let you know

Hows that possible? Doesnt the fuel sender unit only send a reading to your fuel gauge? How could that possibly effect the car and make it stall?

Was bent or something not sitting the the pot correctly and would loose fuel pressure.

Delco, the pipe is on the side of the tank and i remember on my last tank it snapped off and there was no pipe connected to that returnline in the tank it just drops the fuel back in.
