    Question VP heater not going

Just bought a VP wagon a while ago. Heater was not going. Finally got around to having a look at it, and think I have it sussed. Both hoses that previously went throught the firewall into car, have been cut off. Does anyone know why this would be? Would the heater inside be stuffed?

hook them up it could of been a blown hose and they couldn't be bothered to fix it or the other problem could be that the heater core in your dash has a leak i'd try hooking up new hoses as it's the cheaper option just fill it with water for the first test!

    Default Cheers

Cheers guys for the replies. I'll give that a crack next weekend and see how I get on. I presume if it's leaking I'll easily be able to see the water leaking inside the car.

You probally wont see any water inside the car it will drain directly above the front of the gear box out of the Ac drain,Also it migth not leak until everything is hot and under pressure,be aware of this before taking it for a drive if it doesnt leak striaght away because they can blow out if they have a leak

Is there anyway to check the core without going for a drive? Also which way round do the hoses go. Very much a novice at this - practical but don't know alot about cars. And was also wondering what Da_rooster meant when he said fill it with water first.

They are on the drivers side of the fire wall. Don't think they are air con lines, just rubber, about an inch thick or so. Car doesn't have air con as far as I can tell.
