replacing harmonic balancer!!!!!

i just replaced the harmonic balancer on my vp commy series 1

the other harmonic balancer was off a vr commodore series 1 and the BALANCER?? or thing that hits the CAS is bigger and shakes the shit out the car!! could this be the problem or would it be that i havn't put the balancer on properly??

please help!!!!
