    Default Cold air intake

    Hi guys
    just need some extra help,
question is should i custom build a cold air intake?
or put one of these on it?
VN VP VR VS V6 Commodore Cold Air Intake & K N Filter - eBay Other Performance Parts, Performance Parts, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 01-Apr-09 21:17:07 AEDST)
if i was going to custom build it would most preferably look similar to this
Steve's Cold Air Intake for VN/VP v6- Commodore Picture Archives
    what you reckon guys?

How much is a K&N filter worth in your mind..Because you can get the kit that Thongy's sell from Holden for $60, could be a bit less, or you get get the OTR cold air intake from VS supercharged cheap from wreckers if you were lucky...I've seen that one before, about Steve's intake, looks pretty sweet, my only concern is how often do you think you would be washing that pod filter out being where it is....

I just put one onto mine it's really great not worth building your own. Genuine holden one is $70 and K&N filter $80 so that's good value.

    I'd buy it mate

you can order it from any Holden dealer, I guess depending on where you live, the price will vary. The VS supercahrged intake is made by Holden, andfits the VP, and is the same kit being sold on Ebay (factory fitted over the radiator intake )that's what i meant, you might get one cheap at the wrecker's if you were lucky..
Up to you, your in melbourne, so with postage, your looking at $160, my Holden dealer sells the kit for $60,some are $80, so you'll be paying roughly $80-100 for the K&N filter...How bad do you want the filter.....

Hey mate it costs about $78 but i got mine at trade price for $58 cos I'm a mechanic.

To be %100 honest i can't really notice the difference as I'm on my L's lol.
but I'm sure it would be better I've heard they are good for another 4KW.

But that aside it's increasing your engine life a bit more.

Get a genuine one I'd recommend cos they ones at repco are the same price and looked thinner and not flexible if that makes sense.

It's good for conversation too when you pop the hood and tell people your have a VS SUPERCHARGED CAI WITH A K&N filter lol.

Easiest mod i have ever done. My car is a hard bastard
