    Default New injectors

hey guys i just went up to repco and got some brand new injectors for my Vn V6 and i can get the car to run once4 i have installed them.

Looking at the engine everything looks satisfactory but when i start it it runs for about 3 seconds then stalls.

I'm not to sure that i have installed them right .

Anyone is open to tell me what they think it could be and i can try them one by one.

    Any help is appreciated.

    cheers

Yeah i think that is maybe it. They are new orings of course so they should seal. I fear i may have pushed the injectors into to rails to far on a couple i will play with that.

Also i didn't take enough notice when removing them do that clips have to go a certain way?

Yeah but i just held up the fuel rail and pulled the injectors down a bit and when i let go and it's under tension again it seals properly.

The others were had it and dirty but i suppose that was sealing the outer edge of them lol.

You notice much of an improvement with the new injectors?

To be honest i didn't really notice yet because my motor is still running a bit sick but that's not to say it's not there.

I wouldn't go giving advice like get new injectors and you'll have and extra 100kw but i'm sure they doing something better. At least in my mind i know they won't be a problem in the future for men.

If your's a bung them change them otherwise i wouldn't bother to much

There's no need to upgrade injectors. Not unless you're running some serious modifications. Stock injectors can handle more than what the fuel pump can push through them.

If you have a massive powerful motor and your put better injectors on it you will notice this fine tuning but i have been told again and again there is no such thing as cheap power.

I don't know sorry how long they are supposed to last but i just replaced them because i thought they weren't working because i didn't find the computer diagnostics for a while.

They cost be $260 from Repco and i had to hand in my old ones

I called around a few places during the week for a price on servicing my injectors. The going rate is about $30 per injector. That includes before and after flow testing, new filter basket, pintle cap and o-ring.

I had the injectors serviced in our 91 Laser a few years ago because it had no go in it at all. Cost me $80 all up but that's because someone knew someone... Servicing the injectors turned that car into a rocket.

Well if that's what you want to do then don't let my opinion stop you.
I can't really test to find the difference as i am on my Loser plates still. lol So i can't thrash it to find out but it's replaced now and i know when something else go's wrong it's not them which is less painful for me.

You can give it a go but just get restored ones and replace them don't worry about trying to find bigger better ones i don't think they will make a difference.

I got quoted some ridiculous amount for getting my injectors serviced. I was told $245 and thats after me having to remove them myself!! Was cheaper to get reconditioned injectors off ebay and they looked and perform like brand new.
