iv been told its been covered but cant find it, anyway police chips
what do they do if they exist, my mate has a 5spd vn series 1 with a group a body kit and it goes heaps harder than any other v6 vn-vr iv seen, now he tells everyone it cop chipped but according to forums they dnt exist, so plz explain how is his car able to rev well past 6500 , go harder and still have stock as a block engine except a pod filter replacine the air box , what kind of chip is this and what do cop chips do,?????
thanks in advance
so he says its got a cop chip, u have read it here that they dont exist, yet ur asking us what kind of cop chip he has?
cop chips dont exist its a mythical chip were fairies and elves live.
you can how ever tune the ecu, and move the rev limiter higher in the rev range. this is often done after the engine has been totally balanced and built from the ground up.

ha ha love that pic
6k is the magical number that you dare not pass, or so I've heard. :P
Not to mention the spasTASTIC lack of power beyond 5,500rpm anyway. Why yould you bother.

6,500rpm = lots of extra bits of 3800 in no time.
Just wana make jigsaw out of the engine block![]()

k kool my car beats any other v6 commo with same engine after about 40 kph in any drag for some reason it kiks as$ then but id like more power for the early stages of drags and more in the top end to anialate the competitor lol
lol golden
see below
yet so true
for NA its kinda hard to get power both in the lower and upper rev ranges.. its either:
lotta low end with little top end
more mid with good low n top
little low end with more top end.
if you want this thing to bang off from the line, change your diff gears, this will get it moving quicker..
yea iv got a lsd for da wagon lined up and if this helps i just want power from 0-100 i dnt care if it dnt even go over 100 as long as it hammers to 100
whack in your lsd but also change the diff gear ratio from the standard 3.08 (i believe) to say 4.11 it'll rev higher on the freeway doin 100, and yes will consume a little more fuel but it'll move like shit off a shovel from the line.
the way people talk about changing diff gears makes it sound east how do i do it ?
i think there is a how-to in the how-to section, if not, a quick google should pull up a bucket load of info, if your not machanically inclinded, buy the bits n take it to a diff specialist.
IMO 4.11s are a dumb idea in a car that ever goes on the highway. I watched a mate of mine suck down a RIDICULOUS amount of fuel on a 1hr drive at 130kph in a T5 with 4.11 gearing.

The reason it's illegal is that to have a chip doesn't comply with E.P.A.
This just like any good racing chip will allow the motor to perform at it's best potential without worrying about emissions.
The cops are allowed to break the law to catch you doing so.
most performance chips only alter WOT so has nothing to do with EPA at all as they dont test WOT

Actually, they are allowed to savagelol, ever measured the ground clearance under a BA XR8 Highway Patrol with a couple of passengers lately?
