few people have said extractors are bad dnt get them
some say they are good helps motor breath gains abit more power sounds better
what do u guys think
good things about them n bad
and what ones are good pacemakers?
cheers
i say get them iv never heard any bad feedback about them
yeah im thinking about getting some for my vn
i got the 2.5 inch catty system so would extractors make it better sound better
what ones are good
where should i look n how much
i wouldn't say they are bad...... but there are better "bang for buck" mods on a v6...
if your thinking about getting them, then just spend your money on getting your diff done with gears + spool/lsd
you will find your headers at the moment are more than likely cracked by now anyway
I'd say they're not worth the money on a V6 - you don't actually get that much power from them. I'm not just saying that as a V8 boy - when I had a V6, I did every upgrade except for extractors, and it was a damn quick car.
On the other hand, if you happen to have a V8, go for it. You'll lose a little down low, but the top end gains are fantastic.

i thouhgt they would work wonders on the v6 mainly the buick vn as it was just wacked in there and the exhuast manifolds look like crap
they're pretty expensive for a v6 modification... as morton said they are only really worth getting on an 8... they do make the system sound a bit better, but as far as performance goes i havent really found much power gain from them..
If its an 8 go for it. They made mine breath heaps better and they sound great. I used Hi-tech's, but pacies are good too.
yip pacemakers here love em would buy them time and time again if i ever needed another set

if you have a V6 i would say that extractors are very good mod - if you have had bad feedback i'm sorry to say the person doesn't know what he is talking about?
They are not bad. I bought Pacemakers, only because they were cheap 2nd handies and zuicider and I fitted them in my shed... wouldn't be caught dead paying full price for a set, ever. EVEN on a V8.
If it's a V8, yes; if V6, barely; any are better than stock, just whatever you can find; second hand only, $200 or under for V6, $300 or under for V8.
Yep, although that doesn't REALLY matter that much in the scheme of things afaik
FAIL. VN s1 headers are the shiznit; also from memory all the Buick 3800 headers were better than the Squeakotec ones, but I could be wrong there
FAIL. They aren't that fantastic. I'm glad mine were cheap. HOWEVER, if you are the sort of person who thinks they can really FEEL the power their V6 CAI gave them, you will love your extractors.
I've got a set of pacies in mine, and they didn't make a noticeable difference, in either sound or power.
I only noticed the sound difference because I might as well live in my car, I drive it that much.

sam you talk too much dont tell peeps i help others jeez go on ebay i saved 300 plus on a new set and it was delivered to my door
New is overrated. Especially on a model where the RRP on a set of extractors often exceeds the actual value of the car.
Mind you, at least your set probably came with bolts.. LOL

welll looks like im not gonna get any lol not gonna waste my time
Didn't say that
BUY SOME 2ND HAND ONES and fit them yourself. Grab whatever comes up for your engine under a couple hundred.
My Pacies cost me $150.

Buy privately, install yourself if you have the tools

They can be a bit of a headache on the drivers' side, you have to drop the steering rack and unclip the steering linkage to fit most brands through, make sure your wheel is locked, and try not to let your front wheels move whilst it's undone. (doesn't hurt to mark things with a white marker)
lol
did extractors in the shed with a rack swap and PS pump swap at the same time, on a VN s1, arguably the worst motor to do extractors on.
Ended as well as could be expected.. wheel alignment issues and a steering wheel that's remarkably off centre
SO! Follow that man's advice ^^

and fitting PH5029's on vp you need to grind down a bit of the block to make em fit![]()

I had no issues fitting my Pacemakers, whatever part number they were, to my s1. Apart from just generally being a pain, I have no knocking, rattling, rubbing, anything.
