    hey everyone
im pretty new to the mechanical side of things (thats why im looking for a mechanic apprenticeship) so would you be able to give me some info on stroker kits, what they do, price, does it add much power, is it worth it, etc.

because i seen a stroker kit in the current issue of street commodores and it said it can upgrade the 3.8L to 4.3L and im sorta interested

    thanks heaps

a stroker doesnt really give you more power, it increases torque. also for the price of the stroker you would be better off turbo'ing if its power your after

Strokers increase the size of the stroke on the crank, whilst reducing conrod length.

They don't provide much more power, but they give you a heap more torque.

People are too obsessed with how much "power" their car makes....it doesn't make power, it produces torque, from which this mythical "power" figure is calculated.

    It really depends.

With a stroker kit, you can't rev it as high really.
