    Default series1 auto to a series 2 engine

    g'day all wondering if any 1 knows if a series 1 auto will bolt straight to a series 2 engine

    ok sorry just had a look through the site and think they r both series 1 but the selcter is different one has p r n od d 2 1 the other has p r n d 3 2 1 any difference? wiring? flywheel? computer?

    someone has just swapped one selector thing off a vr/vs nice little mod that i always do it.
    Anyways s1 and s2 flexplates (what theyre called in auto's flywheels for manual) are different but its not really an issue as auto is driven off the torque convertor which bolts to your flywheel.
    both boxes are same hydraulic so no wiring differences or computer

    it just a piece of plastic which tells you what gears your in
    OD(overdrive) and D (drive) on the other are the same
    3rd and D are the same too

    I usually chuck the p,r,n,d,3,2,1, on my cars (which is the vr/vs style) as it looks more modern
    easy to take out the shifter surround console part just pulls off and it sits there underneath
