No he hasn't fixed the rust. Hopefully since the rust was painted etc. The Battery will be sitting on another layer of metal on top, the rust won't develop any further.
Might have been an idea to spray the rust affected area with zinc first then top coat.

Nice man, gave me an idea. Rust is a bitch, I just sanded back my hole boot due to rust and put a few coats of wattyl rust-kill primer. Turned out smick, thinking of doing what you have done and kill the rust.
Personally I would of treated the rust before painting it, as the rust will most likely reappear.
Yeah thought about it but didn't even really want to spend any time on it at all. It's just a dodgy temporary fix really
If and when the rust returns, I'll do a better job.
