iac spring. Help Pls

Hey guys, i just took off my Throttle Body and iac valve. I noticed that the spring on the iac wont compress. is this normal or is there something wrong with it.

its meant to be like that its got gogs inside it and a little motor to pull it in and out dont force it you will break it
