Do you have the rear muffler (resonator ) on the exhaust. If not put one back on and this will quiten it down a bit still leaving u with a sporty note. What size pipe u running and what type of muffler u got...?

    Cheers, Johnsey

its only really bad when i have a full car load of ppl. but i would have to agree i only notice it when stereo is off or quiet. was taking parents to the airport a few weeks ago and thats when i noticed it.....old ppl dont like loud stereos so it was starting to annoy me. it has to really warm up first before i get a really good note through the exhaust aswell. when i start it up in the morning and engine is cold its jus like the stock exhaust...is this the same with everyone??

get a stick .... get some chicken wire (detach chickens first if present) .. ball it up and poke the wire as far up the exhaust as you can get it.

now the exhaust'll only make a noise under a higher load

hey now .. my ideas arent weird!! milo tin exhaust pipes, chicken wire up the muffler and napthalene in the petrol tank are perfectly legitimate ideas....

so im a little unorthodox ... meh

I was thinking about putting a 3" with pacemakers on my LS1 VY. It's an auto. Is this going to drone like a b**ch?

In my experience, on the V6s, more mufflers = more drone. Seems to resonate through the car more as it's a deeper note... Just my $2 worth.

pfft go one better and just take the exhaust off at the engine heads, surely there will be no drone at all.

If you have the money and want to keep the car for a while, fit extractors. They change the exhaust frequency and the drone is a lot less noticable.

Chicken wire does work !!! Ive done it to a couple of paddy basher's where the exhaust has fallen off, just jam as much up the remaining pipe as you can and off you go, quiet paddy basher again.

    Has anybody had this setup?

probably not, guess what we drive in the vn/vp section... you guessed it, vns and vps with 3.8s and 5.0s. try the correct section (eg LS1 or VY) and you might get a response
