Just a quickie:
How many peak amps would a regular V8 starter motor draw? I know my battery has around 600cca, does this mean that on a cold start I use ALL 600A of power? Or does the starter motor draw less than 600A? If so, what is this figure?
I'm just curious, because my battery is making its way into my boot, and I need a circuit breaker with a 10sec tollerance higher than its rated constant current, and I need to ensure that tollerance is greater than, obviously, what I'll be using to crank my motor.
nb: using 2ga wire from battery to starter.
nb: no sound system concerns.
tl;dr version: How many amps does a V8 starter motor draw from a battery with 600cca.
inb4 don't move the battery; inb4 just get an expensive breaker.

you sure that pic is unrelated?

I know the V6 ones draw somewhere around 200A ( I think). I've got my battery in the boot and it is fused with a 250A fuse which hasn't blown.
I've got a 200A fuse on my battery harness, no probs with a 5L
It's all good, I bought a switch with a 500w 10sec maxIf I break that, something's seriously wrong
