Question is it posible to add on to the immobilizer

i was just wondering if there was a way to add a siren to the immobilizer in a standard vp with a bit of wiring and a relay seeing that the standard immobilizer sends a tone signal out when its engaged from the interior in sync with the flashing dash light

and im just asking out of interest

you should have a horn under the bonnet
it send a pulse to it so its not on all the time
if you add a siren to that wire ya siren will go on off on off

but im not an auto elec so i geaus its a job for them an less someone here has done it and can do a tut for me

From what i hear the stock vp imob/keypad getup is easy to get around.

Though id be interesed in why mine has a key pad that unless you key in the code the engine wont crank, and the button on the key fob which you must press or the car wont get fuel/spark.

The key fob is a bitch especaly when it wont work, it nearly got to the point a few weeks back when i was about to run a solid 12v line straight to the fuel/efi realy just to get the bastard home, but then it worked rofl.

i haven't had that problem yet and by brainless thieves i meen 15 yo joy riders that barely know how to drive let alown bypass a immobilizer i know how do it as i lost the fob for my first race car and it was engaged and i wasn't sure about the rest of the wiring so i bypassed it

and lets be honest if the immobilizer isnt engaged all it takes to start a vn vp is a small flat screwdriver been there and did that when i lost the key to the race car

I'm a bit confused about this.
Do you mean there's a separate horn from the normal car one, or are you talking about using the standard car horn for the "siren"?

my VP exe had the immobilser but no relay or horn fitted so it only beeped on the dash so you may find its not even fitted on your car

At least I won't be disappointed then if I can't find it.
I didn't get the factory immobiliser with the car.
Is there a way to program another generic unit to work with it?
And what did the original remote do?
Just immobilise, or immobilise & lock the car.

I have the key to lock in the door jam, so I can manually immobilise the car.
Did the factory remote just lock the doors, or deadlock them?

And then is there a way to get an aftermarket remote to work it?

I spoke to Holden who can sell me a remote, and then they can somehow find out the code that was originally with the car when it left the factory. But they said if it's been reprogrammed at some point for a different remote or something, then they can't change it again.
How likely would this be? At some point, the ignition has been changed so it has a different key.

you can get other keyfobs from jaycar with a bit of stuffing round im sure you could program one to the car you just need to push the button and adjust the variable capacitor inside till the doors unlock. you could do the same if you found an old remote at the wreckers then jaycar sell a learning remote version that can get the code off the old one if they only sell the learning ones now

Yea holden are crap at these old things, I got a new key fob from holden and they sold it to me then reckoned they couldn't do it, until I seen an old mate working there, got on talking to him and he went through all the functions and got it working. So goes to show dealers are keen to get you OUT the door.

for interest my key fob is the one with holden on the back and a lock/unlock button and boot release button
