the motor he pulled out has about 150k on the clock and needs new bearings and pistons so its not 2 bad but its in pieces atm but might just be buying a 5 litre thats all together

you might as well rebuild old motor IF all it needs is a rebore, get flat top piston and bearing and rings and then happy days, goes harder and was cheaper lol

yeah it would be cheaper if me and my mates did it but we arnt 2 good at putting motors back together so we wouldn't risk it..i haven't made my mind up yet might fix this one or just get a new one and have a lot of spare parts for the it lol...wait and see

well thats fair enough if you and your mates aren't to confident with motors, It isnt that difficult at all with the manual beside you but yeah it is a few $$$ to throw away if it goes pear shaped. oh and if you decide to buy a second 355 motor be very careful where it comes from a mate of mine got stung a lil while back, it was practically just slapped together clearances were all wrong.

yeh gotta love the vn ss very happy with mine and yeh it has decent k's on it but it's alot of work to put that motor back together if it wasn't in so many pieces i would do it straight away...ohwell see what happens that still might work out to be the cheaper better option...anyways cheers for the comment mate

Went looking for motor's today and found 2 one of them was out of a vn ss with 170k on the clock and 90 days return thingy if it stuffs up and that cost $1500 so what a paid for the car lol =/

Then there was a 5 litre out of a vs for $1550 but they didnt know what k's is on it but it has been tested apparently...was there any difference between the vn/vs 5 litre?
