Cool Just another blue wagon, VN '90

    1990 VN Executive Wagon

    Basics:

    -Dark Blue
    -Auto
    -210,000kms
    -V6 3.8L

    The Different:

-new front discs + VP HSV brakes + 1 & 1/8th master cylinder. (better but not great)
-Roh 15x7 +35 running 215/65/15 continentals, painted (canned) gloss black.
-powerchip installed back in early 90s
    -series 2 coilpacks
    -crappy old clarion headunit
-2x4" sony speakers (only 1 works, wiring problems)
    -CAI, from bunnings
-removed rear muffler, replaced with straight 2.5" pipe. (isn't loud, way under legal limit)
-wire holding on the rear pipe - rubber hanger needs replacing.
    -random cheap, black seat covers.

    Replaced:

-Automatic gearbox, replace with 2nd hand unit @ 205,000kms. (unsure of kms on the -2nd hand unit, however, huge improvement from the old unit can hold gears now )
    -rear boot struts
    -radiator
    -power-steering pump
-LHS indicator x2(one was vandalism), LHS headlight x 1, LHS rear taillights x 1 (damage)
-LHS LCAs, 1 wheel, steering rack and other parts around that around (damage)
-both LCAs(dodgy mechanic source bad parts)
    -rear bumper (damage)
-drivers seat and drivers seat rails
    -thermostat
    -throttlebody
    -heatertap

really isn't my car, just my parents but i mostly drive it these days. Since i'm saving up for a real car, haven't spent much on the VN. I decided to go for a different look. 20" chromies is not my style and its so over done these days and considering i have moved over to the import scene, decided a more aggressive styling would be a welcome change to the car. If i was to spend some money, most of it would go into upgrading the handling.

    Future plans:
    -fix fuel economy(#1)
    -fixed aircon
-tint rear windows, quite dark. (rear doors onwards)
-might get a slight tint on the front door windows.
    -address positive camber wear problems.

You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you die in. This is your wake up call.

old picture: forgive me, the white stripe wasn't my idea. it has now been covered with black tape. rims are also black atm.

custom CAI + dodgy air horn.

engine shot, you can see the mesh to stop leaves building up near the windscreen.

ill get some more recent pics up when i have the time. (so not for a while.)

to op, nice colour, you got lucky in that area, there were some shocking colours in the VN range.

That c.a.i go to under the front bar. looks like a good home job.

and compared to some VNs, the paint is mostly alright, considering its age and the fact is has been living out on the street since '04.

I can't seem to find a place to get the CAI into the front area, there isn't enough room. I had a look but unless i can something my pipe wouldn't fit. got a picture of your setup or a setup you know of?

The pipe came from my front yard, dad was using lots of it for grey water to water grass, so i cut a bit off. was large enough and strong enough for the job.

Probly just the connection, unplug it clean it and plug it back in, or also check the fuses/relays.

auxiliary belt replaced at no charge, the local mechanic didn't tighten up the power steering pulley enough.

interior is dry, carpets will be put back in soon.
