    Default VG Ute build

Hey guys, I have decided to take the plunge and slowly and surely modify my VG ute on a pretty limited budget. I will be doing most stuff myself, so the results may vary lol. I will take some pictures later this afternoon and post so you can see the canvas I am starting with.

Basically it's a 1990 VG ute, with a series 2 motor and has done 152000km. It's pretty straight as you will see when I post the pics, with the usual tailgate dongs. There is minimal rust, mainly surface spots from stone chips in the paintwork. It's a column shift auto and has factory fitted cruise control. Belo is a basic list of what I am considering, budget restrictions may eliminate some of them though.

    - Splitfire plugs and new leads
    - Pod filter and CAI
    - Lowered sport suspension
    - Steering wheel and Boss kit
    - Replace door trims and paint interior
    - Silicon hose kit
    - Bonnet scoop
    - New tonneu cover
    - Prep and Paint body
    - Additional gauges Taco etc.
    - ECU memcal upgrade
    - Gauge pod and instrument inlay
    - Gearbox service and shift kit
    - Paint Rocker covers
    - Strut brace
    - Tail light replacement
    - Paint/replace grill
    - Forced induction
    - Extractors
    - Seatcovers or seat replacement
    - Wheels and tyre kit
    - Race pedals
    - New coil pack

This morning I swapped memcals for a sv3800 tune and it pulls smoother in the mid range and slightly crisper throttle response, but it will be replaced once I sort CAI and extractors. I welcome any questions or advice as I am going to need it!

Watch for some pictures later today!

    Default nice ute

i have a 1990 vg too, got it this november. Thinking of doing similar things to mine.
its a 5spd manual resprayed holden storm grey, reconditioned gear box put in about three years ago and vp engine in it too. genie extractors, full exhaust with two hot dogs and mandrel bent pipes.
wanting to get spitfire coil packs too
black altezza tailights or something more original
pod filter and pipes going in this week.
new power steering pump soon, alot of the old commodores p/s pumps go, makes a horrible noise with revs...

    Sound system?
