    Default PORT3Rs 5L VQ Statesman

    For those that know me, I recently sold my VT, and this is the new pride and joy
    I don't have massive plans at the moment, just a few smaller things that I want to fix up to make her look a bit more classier. Perhaps down the track I'll look at more serious engine mods.

    Name: Dave

    Age: 19

    Model: 1990 series 1 VQ statesman

    Colour: Atlas Grey (original paint)

    Engine: 5L v8

    Gearbox: 4 speed auto

    Odometer: 140xxx (genuine with log book)

    Exhaust: HSV headers, stock cat, 2.5" with rear muffler removed (for now)

    Brakes: Stock

    Suspension: King Spring SSL's

    Wheels: 17x7 WM statesman

    Interior: Dark blue velour

    Future Mods:

    SSL's in the back to match the front
    Remove rear mudflaps

    CAI
    Pacemakers, twin cats, Y pipe, 3"
    Tune

    Other Info: 2 genuine owners, both elderly. Log book. Paid $6450 on the 17th of December. Came with years rego and RWC.

    VicRoads will facilitate exemption permits to be granted by letter, upon application, for the following vehicle types:
    1. Hight powered Vehicles with a power to weight ratio of less than 100kW per tonne;
    2. Hight powered Vehicles with a power to weight ratio between 100kW and 125kW per tonne and that are considered to be a family-type vehicle rather than a sports-type vehicle.

    You work off 125kw/per ton or 3.5L/per ton, therefore with an estimated weight of 1563kg it would work out to:

    125x1.563= 195.375kw (max engine output) - Standard output: 165 kW @ 4400 RPM

    or

    3.5x1.563= 5.4705L (max engine capacity) - Standard capacity: 4.987L

    that was a lot of math

    Cheers for comments guys.

    Yeah I've got an exemption for power/weight due to her weighing 1900kg and only putting out 165kW. (125kW/tonne)

    I'll get some pictures asap. Sadly, they will be off my phone, as my camera is dead. I bought myself a new DSLR for Christmas though

    Well.. If you think about it, what does an International have that the standard VP not have? a few other bits of bodykit really, a different steering wheel? Should be around about the same curb weight as a Calais? maybe what.. 20kg more?

    Curb weight 1,332 kg (2,937 lb) for an VP Commodore (non calais).

    Yeah, my bad I ment 1600kg (typo) I'll upload a few pics that I took off my phone when I get home tonight.
    Why does Hozy want the mudflaps btw? He's more than welcome to have them for a minimal fee
    How is the tune going Trent? I want to get one done also...
    Got pulled over today, no wordswere spoken about the car being a v8.

    Cheers, Dave.

    As requested I've got a few pics.
    Nothing special atm, as I don't have a real camera on me.

    After christmas the rear is getting lowered, and hopefully early-mid next year the new exhaust system will be going on.

    In the middle of those 2 mods I'll be doing a few more smaller ones

    Cheers, Dave.
