Default 90 vn from old to new

hey peeps just gonna tell u abit bout my 90 vn and show some pics

bought it end of 2009 for $500 in a ugly state paint never got looked after, interior had mud in it everywhere (ex South aus car) but the engine and trans is awesome

i started off giving it a full clean on the inside for bout 3 days and me owning a auto detailing business has to have done stuff to perfecto! the interior came up well like new except the ugly truck vn steering wheel with normal discoloring.

i then started on the exterior assesing the paint work it was VERY dirty but in VGC for its age with hardly no stone chips or fading like general vn's do. i wont give away my tips on how i restored the exterior

i then thought it needed a new look cause the one color was BORING and a just another looking vn so decided to go a calias look 2 tone with the light silver approach (not finished yet)

the original rims were okish but not what i wanted they reminded me of a mock hsv rim and in a damn ugly way! so decided to upgrade them to a 18 inch rim.

i have replaced all panhard bushes, upper trailng arms all nolathane and disc's and pads all round also replaced the wiper arms and all brake lights and connections as most didnt work i also upgraded the dash cluster to a VS cluster that i modded to make work

the engine is a 3.8 V6 series 1 engine with no rattles or normal vn noises it doesnt overheat like most series 1's doesnt leak oil or use water it was ideling abit rough when i got it but soon sorted that with a service and tb cleanout making the idle better than most vn's the trans is next for a service, i also detailed under the bonnet aswell

let me know what u think an im willing to answer any questions u may have

Car looks great! And why lower it in my opinion. That's one of the great things about the VN is that is is such a versatile car. Once you lower it you have the same issues as everyone else that owns a lowered vehicle. And i couldn't get away with it due to all of the speed bumps in my area. The local councils motto must be "hmm spare tax payers cash in the kitty = more speed bumps".

Create a fully enclosed CAI for the pod or purchase an airbox.
You will most likely experience power losses with the POD exposed like that.

the interior is blue on grey i think but the door trim inserts are like grey and red also im considering making the enclosed airbox but i think there wont really be a point when the turbo goes on but im pretty sure in its life the dash has been changes all i see is BT1 tags all under the dash and centre console not sure if they put a bt1 interior in it but really there was no point lol

and yes the steering wheel is huge and i cant stand it i have a VR steering wheel but when i put it on the plastic behind the wheel dont sit just behind the wheel its like 5cm away from it and it looks icky plus checked out the vr plastic and it look total diff cause of the windscreen wipers stalk etc but ill just shuv a sports wheel on it anyways
