sounds good dude, but is it v6 or v8?
Lol, my bad. Its a seriesII V6. Got one in the shed may as well use it!
Anyway, have got onto ASR about a decent sump for the build. Looking into oiling system mods at the moment.
Drag-comp sump: (*note the one pictured is for an RB30, but you get the idea)
Engine has been completely stripped down. All I'm keeping is the block! Man the bin was heavy wheeling it to the kerb!!!
Getting quotes to get a decent full-cage (weld-in) at the moment. Then I'll be looking at tubs, and then PAINT!!!!

found the links i was looking for regarding the modified oiling system.
****Edit: these modifications are for an American buick and run a different system to ours. Gives me some ideas though

Yeah they must get sick of picking up my bin.
First week after I got the VN the entire interior went in the bin.
Week later all the random crap went in it.
All I've got left is the shell, panels, block, kframe and diff (which im not keeping).
just so you know those links are for a totally different oil pump setup than what we run some of the block porting of oil is the same but the front cover and oil pump is not the same it hangs off the side of the cover ours is in the front of the cover with the balancer driving the pump
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
^^^ to tell you the truth i didn't even look at what set-up that was running!
Thanks to Delco the correct oil/lubrication system modifications are located here: Another NZ Single turbo conversion

Cracker: Yeah we've been looking at the heads for awhile now, the US guys are adament that they'll fit, while most the guys over here say that they won't.
But by looking at them and looking through the 'Project-VN' book from the late eighties a mate of mine has (friggin' awesome read btw!) it looks as though the only real change holden did was move the bore centreline by shifting the cylinder banks forward and aft.
But in doing so they appear to have kept eveything in around about the same spot. (yes they moved the bore centreline, but the bore, water galleries and head studs appear to be in the same spot when in reference to thier original spacing.
Delcowizzid: Its the COME kit, i got the pic off an email they sent me. You have me intrigued on these SPOOL rods though........ I saw them in another post of yours. What pistons will you be running?
What about crankshaft? Someone said COME do standard stroke steel ones for around the $800 mark.
- Though they haven't said anything about to me, and I've been corresponding a bit.
Buick Turbo V6 Engine Build Overview - GM High-Tech Performance Magazine bloody good oil mod in that article mate read about drilling the centre oil feeds![]()

You da man delco
I see you've been and seen our mates oversea's........
They don't reply much.
Thanks for the article, will definately come in handy.
This motor has been put on the back burner for a little while longer, as the wagon has decided to do the rear-main seal. May as well rebuild while its out.......
Sucks balls, unless of course I can find a 5ltr for a grand or so, she'll be getting rebuilt.
- 5ltr would be good though, gonna need something to tow the VN's trailer with, hmm...
Who knows! Thanks for the info Delco, how's your beast travelling?
yeah seen your thread over usa land thought ide hit it for replies LOL.still going strong so far hopefully go get some exhaust supplies today so i can get the 3" finished and crank up da BOOOOST some more![]()

How much boost you running atm?
What sort of mainfolds did you use? Did you make your own log-style?
I'm trying to make some tuned-length tubular ones, still in the design stages though (in my head at beer-o'clock) lol
yeah just used a drivers side vr cast manifold on the drivers side and made a log for the passenger side works great easy cheap good place to start will make better ones later if i need too.boosting at 7 to 8psi had to burn my tune to a memcal needed the realtime ecu for another car havnt put it back in cause i need it again tomorrow so havnt tweaked the car in over a week tunes pretty good and reliable so just boosting round.dont want to crank the boost up till i have the 3" on the 2.5 has a little to much backpressure i think and dont want to pop the turbo seals out just for being impatient and cranking the boost

Nice.
Gotta love doing it on the cheap and easy!
How's the cast one holding up? The passenger side ones tend to crack without boost, be interesting to see how it holds up.
its fine as you said the passenger ones crack lucky i dont use a passenger side one anywheretheres no weight on it either so not any real stress dont think it gets any hotter than without a turbo either havnt had it glowing yet

Reckon. Lucky lol.
loving the yet.........
I was originally going to set-up a cheap turbo system for my old berlina using the seriesI manifolds,
but i didn't like how the first and third faced each other.
Never thought about the cast ones though...... even if it does eventually break, its not like it'll cost much to replace!!
sweet should go good
