Recently bought this, picking it up next week. Bought a 93 VP Executive manual when i was at Uni back in 2000 and loved the car, I love the look of the VP. Have missed the old girl since i sold it and vowed to get another one. I was looking on ebay the other night and found this at the right price so i just bit the bullet and bought it. My other toy is a land rover discovery with front and rear diff locks, lift etc etc and I have been looking to get a car to play with aswell. Will post some more pics up when i have picked it up. Matt

Just a note mate, you have the VP clubsport kit n senator wheels![]()
VP clubsport n SS kits are the same, same as VP senator wheels and VR clubsport
Would look really nice with the red pin striped SS tail lights too
Looks like it has a lot of potential. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?

I didnt pick the VN side skirts, I shall get some VP ones when i can.
I need to get the car back and check it over. Im going to redo the interior, not sure with what yet.
Matt
Car is home, tucked up safely in the carport. Im very happy with it. I have plenty of work to get done to bring it up to scratch. Pant is actually very good bar the ding on the front and the usual chips here and there, not the usual paint cancer that you see on many commodores.
Car wont need to much for rego but needs a fair bit of little bit here and there work done to get it up to scratch.
For rego:
-4x new tyres
-1x bush kit
-2x headlights (would pass but they are all buggered inside so arent very bright, but like me LOL)
-2x tail lights, faded to buggery and have gone all brittle
- not a requirement for rego but the engine will get a good service, new plugs, leads, oil etc and I will get the auto trans serviced aswell.
Other tidy up work:
- Front left corner needs some body work, tiny bit on corner of bonnet and wing are dented and the front bumper has got some scrapes and cracks
- Roof lining is sagging, needs redoing
- seats need tidying up, back seat and passenger front are just dirty driver seat has a hole from wear and tear on the side of it from people getting in and out. Some seat covers will sort that out for now.
- tidy up the carpet in the boot and put it all back in neat and tidy
- needs a stereo and some good speakers
- has a stupid pod filter so thats getting the flick and a cold air intake will be going in
EDIT: will get some more pics on monday, working 12hr day shifts over the weekend
are boot garnishes available new or is it a case of finding a good second hand one?
Yeah, i found someone wrecking a VP the same colour as mine, scored a new bonnet and left wing, but they also reckon the boot garnish is in top condition so will check that out tomorrow when i go to pick the other bits up.
Other news. I got my new tail lights, not in the car yet been working the last 4 days, got some time off over the next 3 days so will try and get some stuff done. Got some second hand rocker covers on ebay cause one of mine has a hole in the top of it and is leaking oil, the other one just a sieve foa gasket. Also got some heavy duty sway bar links with new bushes as mine are buggered. Got a wiring plug to allow the new stereo when i get it to plug straight into my existing loom.
Also got a set of new Federal SS595 235/45/17 tyres for $95 bucks each, wasnt to sure on them at first but given the price i thought why the hell not.
Federal Tyres Australia - ss595
going to get a set of seat covers fro the seats to cover them up until i can find a decent set of Calais or statesman seats.
Will see how I go for time over the weekend, missus has some stuff on so not sure if i will be able to make it.
Well, picked up the parts today, all in good nick, got a near new looking boot garnish aswell which was a bonus. But the parts are a slightly different colour, the blue on the parts is a darker blue/silver mine is closer to silver with a light blue tinge. Ah well, im going to get the car resprayed eventually anyway.
Well spent the day at home and did some work on the car, havent done that in a while, been to busy. put the rebuilt starter motor back in my Discovery and then set to work prepping and priming the bonnet and wing i picked up in sydney yesterday.
Rubbed everything back, sanded smooth some chips but other than that they panels were pretty good. Roughed everything up and then gave it a wipe over with some thinners and a clean rag.
Then I primed each panel, hoping to get top coat on tomorrow.
Pics of the primed panels

Here are the painted items, not show room quality obviously but once polished up should look better than the dented ones on the car. Then when i get the time and money i will prep the car and respray it completly.

Well, change of plan, car is getting a full repsray and change of colour. Was going to go with Turismo Mica but have swayed more to a gun metal grey or silver of some kind.
Got some holidays coming up and a mate who is a spray painter so im going to do all the prep work and he will do the painting. Will take pics as the progress starts when i get moving with it
Yeah, im leaning towards the black SS colour, Anthracite i think is the colour. Then some red and black Leather seats for the interior
Nice Acer....
Ok, so I have finally decided on a colour, the new dark metallic VE green. The missus' pajero is finally sorted so will go up for sale soon, once thats sold the cash will go towards getting the commodore done and registered.
Plan is to do the car in the new VE dark metallic green, black and grey leather seats with grey dash, carpet and roof lining. Going to keep the V6 for the moment to keep the budget down and look at fitting a 5L later on down the track. Motor is coming out for the paint job so will get new seals and an internal inspection, odometer says 200000km but I cant say for sure if its the original cluster thats in the dash. I have stripped the exterior of the car minus the badges and door handles and have removed a fair chunk of whats in the engine bay, motor still to come.
