Anyone know why my cruise control keeps shutting off every few seconds after activating it?

Also little problem when I'm idling down the street and the cam comes in it makes a clonking noise each time it fluctuates in the rear end somewhere, anyone out their think they can help?

If cruise is shutting off then I'd check the brake switch.

Also try driving with your foot under the brake peddle holding it up - this will point to the brake switch it it's on the edge of connection then not. (engaged then not)

Just checked the brake switch and it just wobbles around,
It has thread on the switch but no nut to hold it in place?
are they supposed to be mounted with a nut on each side?

Thanks to messing around with my brake switch I didn't realize that my brakes where stuck on and my neighbor came told me that I had left my lights on... Tail lights where damn warm as well.

I do have a feeling now that it's my brake switch as it just hangs in place, not sercured in place.

    Also thanks nathan

Nice Calais, looks classy in the platnium gold.

You say the exhaust is pretty quiet, you running two mufflers? I have one muffler on my VR and its fairly loud

Nathan I'm not really up for going to the effort of doing a dash conversion as it is only a get around car, maybe if one of those statesman dash's pop up with door trims and all with the woodgrain then might reconsider.

Thanks mate, I think the plat gold colour looks tops aswell, the silver didn't really float my boat so I had the whole car done I think it looks more cleaner with a single tone paint job.

Just before the diff I have a muffler so yes I have two mufflers, I'm not one for noise and prefer to be able to talk to people in the cabin without the headache of a droning noise.
Though it might be abit annoying when I get a converter for it.

Then I'll finally be able to take it to the strip and see what this setup pulls.

But putting it in a Vn I heard is a bit of work and by the looks of meanvn seems just too much for me now lol...

I think I have a better chance putting a 5l in as that would really be worthwhile.

Pretty neat lookin for a VN - hardly see any these days that straight. Makes me nostalgic for my old S Pack I used to have.... And the colour reminds me of the Olympic 200 ltd edition VLs...

Question did the Vn s1 88' model have a power and economy button??

Just pulled apart my dash to install some gauges and found the button covered under my statesman console?

What is the purpose of this? I haven't tried pressing the button just left it the way it was. For me to be able to press it I need to take off the centre console again.

    Sorry for double post...

Today The rod that holds the boot up when pulled up snapped,
is it a tough job to fix, going to head to the wreckers tommorow if its good weather and get one of the bars.

Nice clean VN mate! Loving the colour!!

Nice dark tint and some different bigger rims would set this car off in my opinion. Each to their own though. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks mate,
Yeah they where just my spare rims I had to take some pics with, didn't want to take photos with the interceptors it now has as it degrades the car abit lol
But yeah as soon as I sell my other car I'll be looking into either vy sigs or ve gts 20's

I tried a set of hbd j series on it powder coated black but 18's aren't big enough for vn's I feel you need to go big or stay stock.

Question: does anyone have a corvette servo In their th700?
As i would like to know if your car too slams/thumps into gear but only in foward gears and it only happens when your in say reverse/park/ neutral.

So finally got out off my a$$ to race it, was happy with how it went but in saying that theres more in it..
first pass just soft launching to see if everything would hold up ran 15.608 at 87MPH
then ran 2 low 15.5's to finish the night off with a 15.503 at 88.47MPH

i didnt quite stall it up on that run either maybe like 1100 but next meeting im going to take it out again, going to go this time with 98 bp fuel and go on a 1/4 tank, too see the difference also going to stall it up and see how we go.

But in all honesty for what i spent i wouldnt suggest the mods for anyone apart from diff gears and LSD because really if i spent the same amount on a 5l i would have been 14's without doubt but i choose to stay v6 and not cop any bothers from the police being on my p plates which get picked on everywhere you go.

next on the list im going to do is order a converter from dominator and hopefully all that low end power im losing out of the hole should pick up abit off the line and get a better et. Then try my mates 4.11 diff out and last if i cant crack 14's ill go e85 and get some injectors and pump up the fuel pressure and get a race tune, though that will be last case scenario
Im going to keep going till i get that 14.99999
