Hi, my wife has been on at me to get a ute. chances are my friend had a VG for sale in a not so complete state.
Now this is my first Holden let alone a Commodore so bare with me while i make a few mistakes (im sure i will). I'll also put some pictures up shortly.
My aim is to turn it into a nice clean ute while also being able to tow my other car around, oh and not forgetting an area for the puppy's.
Recently picked up a VS Equip for parts and dragging home a VS ute thats been in a big front ender (parts car also).
Any tips would be appreciated =p

dragged this home last night for more parts,
Just swapped the carpet and the bench seat from it into the VG while using the drivers seat from the Equip as it was in better nick.
Been working hard on this one lately.Replaced lots of parts, radiator cap, serpentine belt, oil/oil filter, air filter, plugs, leads, fuel filter, converted the coils to VS and the fuel pump died so thats from a VS also.
Trialed the VS front and modded the rad support to suit.
Lots of other things have been done too, ill update with more pics tomorrow maybe.

nicely done mate , any future performance plans?
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out
yeah, get it running without the engine light on lol. Nah not much to be honest, have an exhaust there ill be fitting.
Mainly aiming for handling as the wife will be mostly driving it, what are the chances of fitting the VS front struts in it?
should be able to put the struts in if you keep the vg strut tops
was hoping to do that and run VT twins at a later date.
the shock diameters are different, VS is slightly thicker where it mounts in the top hat.
anyone have any idea how to combat this?
ok so i did a code check and it spat out code 22 (tps), so i changed it with one from one of the wrecks, disconnected the battery for awhile and then let the engine run for a bit then ran another code check. Code 12 showed up (no fault) YOU BEAUTY!
Got the tailgate fitted up today then i decided to get it up in the air and rip the wheels off to get started on the brakes and bushes.
so now i have the two VS wrecks (sedan and ute) what suspension and braking parts off these wrecks should i use on the VG?
nice pick up mate. I reckon you should swap the buick over to the VS ecotec. but thats me.

Not really interested in going to the effort, you can buy it if you like tho. I need to make a FS thread but dont have enough posts. lol.
should do a dash swap with the equip
the VS front end looks ok on it, but i personally i would keep the VG front end on, you just dont see them these days
Was missing the VG front bar, a headlight was busted and there was rust in the bonnet. I have a VP senator kit for a wagon there but it was just easier to run the VS front.
Not real keen on more headaches doing the dash conversion, end of the day its only cosmetic crap tbh.
Engine light came back on, code 22 faulty tps even after i swapped it with the one on the Equip.
Couple more photos of how its coming along.
now what should i do with this stuff?

All new bushes fitted throughout the front end, just waiting for my strut tops to arrive then i can start on the rear.
Turns out the VS tps differs from the VN one so i bought a new VN one today and problem solved.
some more visual stimulus
