I am what you would call "mechanically challenged" and know sfa about cars, despite my keen interest in them, (my brain simply doesn't comprehend mechanical stuff) so I apologise (in advance) for any stupid comments I post in the future.
All i know is to keep the car serviced, washed and polished.
Cheers
That's one of the cleanest stock VN's I've ever seen, nice work man. Would you ever consider losing the mudguards and towbar, getting some new mats, some King Spring Lows and chasers (15x7 silver rims)?
Yep nice looking clean VNGetting harder to find in good nic now days - most have been driven into the ground and have well over 300,000kms on them. (I picked up a VN L2 cluster the other day with 391,110 kms on it)
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 3 Dangerous non ABS VN's
looks really nice, get some holden interceptors on it and some fe2 springs would look the part, love a nice standard ish vn exce looks like its in great nick too
Thanks for taking the time to comment and for the kind words. Don't think i would go the chasers - seems to be a common mod (not that there is anything wrong with that - i think the Time Capsule VN is one cool example) - if I was going to do something with it, then I would want it to be something a little different. It would be good to bring the suspension down a bit but not all that clued up on best options, fair prices etc - feel free to make suggestions - always looking to learn. Your other suggestions would have to be considered and would depend on how it looked after springs and wheels. Thanks for the comments F l a k.![]()
Thanks 88GreenVN !![]()
Thanks for the kind words cracker. Is there any reason you would go fe2 ? From my readings on here, most seem to favour the superlows etc. Cheers.
FE2 sits an inch lower than standard height. It came on 'S' and "SS's,, Bit rougher ride, better handling, ect ect. they do looks a damn sight nicer than landcruiser height, and if you want to get them, you dont need to worry about replacing shock absorbers- just the springs. Nice clean ride mate
edit- did you notice any difference after taking out the bellmouth? fuel economy, power, response, ect
Hi somefool,
How does the ride quality compare between FE2 and other options such as King Super Lows ?
As for the bellmouth, (from memory) I didn't notice any huge differences after removal. Did idle a little rougher, which i like (something to do with the fact my first car was old school and tended to shake around abit when idling). I have nothing to verify that any improvements were achieved. Just something I suppose that you do to change/improve your car as all the members on this site would know about. Have to walk before you run....... Also have never been concerned about fuel economy so didn't take much notice to be honest. Thanks for the compliments on the old girl.
I have FE2 in my car, I think the balance between comfort and body role is pretty good. If I was you though I would get some nice shocks for it anyway (you can use the stock length ones though) I got monro gt's all around and that alone made it alot nicer to drive. Takes bumps etc alot tidier than the old oil shocks. Otherwise nice clean car! Maybe paint the grey strip between tailights black?
Thats nice and tidy leve the radio keep it original maybe silver stockers with center caps like bt1
That is one of the tidiest stock standard VNs I've seen in a while. Well done for looking after your ride and I hope it gives you many more kms of driving enjoyment!
Thanks for the great feedback guys !!! Your comments are much appreciated. I intend to keep it looking as original as possible so the interior will be left as is - no real need for changes as it is pretty decent inside (condition wise). Only possible changes would be wheels and suspension to "dress it up abit". Please refer to previous comments on BT1 styling. Thanks again for the great comments.![]()
Dude! Thats so nice its not even funny. Looks like you bought it yesterday and drove home with dirty shoes. Nice find; beautiful car!
Not slam it and put a fully sick SS kit on it bro... x.X
