The general idea is as follows:
A sturdy, reliable rally car for me to learn in, and for mates to have time trials in. Strengthened chassis and suspension mounting points, good dirt suspension setup, and lots of night time driving lights
Have some pics. This is the starting point of the old girl - long ways to go yet
Not bad for next to nothing.
Plan is to transplant my VQ Statesman interior + seats + roof lining in place of the busted mis-matched rubbish in there now.
QUESTION: Does anyone know whereabouts in the VN/VP/VR range an engine number VH1183998 would have fallen? I'm guessing it's not around 1989 when this car was made
More pics tomorrow as I break out the spanners and tear it apart.

Hey mate, looks good, 89 models didn't have the S2 engine lucky its got that in it, there so much easier to work with, Not sure where it would come in on the year but its not the original haha like the majority of them. good luck with it cant wait for the updates.
~ VN POWER ~ Click the scales
Engine is end of Feb 1991 with a serial number car of approx L492591
White 05 V6 VZ Executive - Thrashed Ex Telstra car
and 2 Dangerous non ABS VN's
Get out your heat gun and start ripping out that sound deadener, No excuses, I know your good for it lol
Or you could try the dry ice way of removing it?
Looks like it has vn ss's so thats a good base since there 7" wide....... Cant wait to see how awesome this thread becomes

Still working hard into the night with Hozy. Half the statesman interior is in, the wiring and front half to follow.
This is going to be magnificent ^_^

How come you can get this done in a weekend but it's taking dirby weeks to do the same thing???
Anyhoo...
THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!
hey morton, why put a new interior in it if its a thrash car?
looks aight tho![]()
Hozy and I got a bit done tonight - long ways to go yet though!!
Centre console needs replacing (preferably with good gearstick boot), roof lining and door seals must be purchased, and possibly a LV3 cluster. Maybe.
Once the interior (crocodile aligator) is together the mechinical service + roadworthy comes
Love the good ideas (impulse purchases) that happen on a long weekend
Inspiration for this insane project:
Wish us luck ^_^

LOL, Morton you just never stop do you?
Forgive me if i missed something though, but what happened to the VQ? How did it end up being the donor for this car?
Jeez ya don't mess around do ya?! In my defense I did NOT put the VQ rear end on it. Or do anything else to it other than go to work in it for that matter... Can't wait to see what you turn it into!
Oh also, find anything cool under the back seat? I never got around to checking haha
didnt find anything too interesting but we did find foot print marks on the c pillars![]()

also we found $5 in coins and rusty scissors, cigarette butt and about two acres of desert sand lol
