Nice clean car there.. Pitty you sent the calais to scrap.. I would of bought the front bar off it.. The rubber strip is hard to find..

Thanks man and yeah i know now that them front bars are hard to find but it had a big scratch on it so i just scraped it, i think it was a post i read by you the other day about the bar? not sure though.

Thanks mate and yeah i seen your wagon looks like a nice clean starting point. VNs do have a lot of potential people just talk them down to much but there one of my favorite commodores.

Got heaps of plans for mine i wouldn't mind chucking a ls1 and a t56 in her one day but im also buying another VN of my dad soon and its a white wagon best bit is the factory 5ltr 5speed, after a while of owning cars iv learnt things never go to plan things just happen with cars.

Bit of a update.

I got an angle grinder and cut the front of my mums vt of and took her engine its a vx ecotec with just over 100000ks on it so im doing a ecotec conversion some time soon.

I plan on making a detailed guide on this conversion as the one that's already done only includes a few photos and everyone love heaps of photos and ill try add heaps of info for other people wanting to do this conversion. Also i plan on finding a way to make it manual steering and if my budgets good maybe a t5 as my auto has basically shat itself.

why cut the front off, is the body shagged? That white wagon looks great.. Just needs chrome dress rings to match the nuts.. Just my 2 cents worth..

The body wasn't stuffed it just needed bit off money put into it but no one in my family were interested in spending a cent on it, i had it for sale and no one wanted to buy it for how much i was asking so rather then lower my price im just wrecking it and using what i can off it and cutting the front end was the easiest way to get everything out in one shot.

And the white wagon im thinking of wrecking to as the body's got some bad rust around front window i would like to fix it as its been in my family for 10years and its a factory 5ltr t5 exec but im not sure yet only time and money will tell.

Got my engine and gearbox, im going to build the engine up over a few year until im of my ps.

I dont really know what im doing with this lol my plans keep changing but the ecotec conversion plan has got the bin to make way for my 5ltr and 5speed, i think im just going to clean up the buick abit and fix all the little problems and make it reliable while i build my 304 up. Im thinking of buying a B&M shift kit and corvet servo to give the auto a bit more life.

My plans for the 304 are:
355 stroker with flat tops. im still looking into brands but have been looking at the SCAT kits.
single plane low rise manifold to give it a better look.
mild cam been looking at crane cams.
and well i haven't really looked to far into specs as i will spend 2 years collecting parts then build it..

Brought a few thing for the vn today, a alarm so no c*** tires to steal it, new speakers (JBL 6.5" splits) and some new breather hoses and some other stuff that isn't worth typing.

Also been researching on how to go about building my engine and iv found that a lot of people have problems with strokers (always pulling them out to fix stuff because of s*** always breaking ect). So im just going to stay with the std 304 stroke and my engine has never been fully rebuilt (only top end reco few years ago but bottom end lasted 340xxxks).

The shitty unpredictable weather in Melbourne turned out aright today so i got some work done. Car now has a alarm system (done properly not just all hanging under the dash) and some JBL splits, also took out all the felt underlay and a grommet so hopefully i dont get puddles in my car anymore.

Got a custom tune from some "Delcode01" guy on eBay, still yet to test it but this guy seems to know what hes doing so hopefully its a decent tune.

Got another vn today, its getting stripped and the engine and gearbox is going in my Berlina.



Its also got a vn ss steering wheel and some stockys with good tyres that im gonna put on my car.

Got around to pulling out my manual pedal box today, it was easy as only took me about halve hour and everyone says there hard?? Anyways i have ran into a problem with pulling my engine out i don't have a engine crane lol, hopefully i can borrow one in the next few weeks. Now i can start saving for a VRS kit, maybe a new clutch, paint for the engine, assorted oils and whatever else i might need.

Manual its so close yet so far...

Manual conversion cost to date: $310 and iv already got everything needed to convert it to manual plus a whole vn wagon of spares, i did pretty good i reckon since i thought i wouldn't get it done for under a grand.
