just thought i would share my baby with the rest of you all
those in SA might have seen me cruising around in it lol....
paid $1250 for it with over 300.000kms on the clock late last year, and since then i have already done so much such as replacing all suspension, bearings motor, trans all bush's and of course general motor replacement crap. just fitted pacemakers the other day... have a look, she is still in the works and still in the planning stages.... over all iam fitting a monaro bonnet, not sure about body kits thou, anyone wanna throw me some ideas? iam keeping the stockies as i reckon they suit the car, iam considering on filling in all the speed lines on the panels and doors so it has a smooth and flush body. for a v6 it has a rather nice note.
missing the rear splats thou, previous owner cut them out, so iam not sure if iam gonna try and refit them if that's evan possible....
] ups as well as replacing the roof-liner when i get to it eventually lol... there are couple more pics, but it wont let me upload them

well mine has never been resprayed by the looks of it, but i will have a look at the codes tomorrow and see if i can find it for you.
Leave the spats the way they are, the car looks okay without them. VP SS bodykit looks good on the calais, even if you just get the side skirts and back skirts would be good. I think VP Calais looks better without the front VP SS lip and foglights

its not a Calais without the spats they have to go back in.
I wouldn't worry about the SS kit maybe just put the front lip on if you get one dirt cheap
agree with ducker, you have to put the spats back on there its not a calais without them! check my build thread and see if you like the look of the ss front lip on mine, i think it looks wicked on there, i love the look of it. polished calais wheels always look mint too, especialy with whitewalls. active motor wreckers should be able to help with the spats.
If you're not driving a manual, you are only steering, not driving
I've seen heaps, SS grey over Calais grey
here's one on ebay atm CLICK HERE
there's also one on gumtree located in adelaide
sorry to go off topic
i do agree it does need the splats back, but where to evan start with them. i had a better look at them the other day while doing my fuel filter and its literally been hacked up under there... i would need to grind back whats left of the original splat support plate and make and weld new plates in... yah not.....![]()
very nice vp calais. i like the center console. wierd that they removed the rear splats.

Very nice mate, lovin that centre console very classy, trying to chase one up atm for my stato
I do agree with the rest though most defently needs the spats on it.
On the colour code thing from what i remember there is only one code to go off. To find the 2 tone code, at the panel shop i worked at we had a paint mixing system and would type the code (we got off the plate) into the computer and if the colour was available in 2 tone this would give us a primary and secondary code. Primary being top colour and secondary obviously being bottom, this is what we did for all makes and models, there may be other ways but this is how i remember doing it.
Hope this helps guys.
Cheers Shaun.
interior doesnt look to bad for an old car..must of not been to much of a thrasher
the interior is near mint, just the typical sagging roof liner which i havent sorted yet, and one small tear in the back seat... apart from that no other damage to signs of wear. and nah she wasnt a thrashed car considering the people i bought it off lol....
small update on the Calais, finally got a new set of tail lights lol... fitted a new set of headlights as well, dropped a new exhaust system under her, has a nice quiet but suttle rumble now, way better then what it was producing before. finally got around to replacing the boot lid but was lucky enough to score a lid and lip from a vp Calais international with a near matching color... score.... got my front seat belts replaced finally and thanks to my lovely other half i finally have a decent box for my twin DLS subs in the bootjust gotta finish setting it up correctly... and removed the stato console... it was annoying me so i went back to the original type lol.... next is the roof liner once i come up with a different design... just a few pics i took tonight after i gave her a bath
